I hate whenever I'm just laying in bed and then out of nowhere my brain will make me remember something embarrassing or traumatic that I really wanted to forget... It always gives me so much anxiety. :((

Edit: Woah, this has a lot of likes. Thanks everyone! :) I want all of you to know and remember how strong you are. If you're going through a difficult time right now, or you feel that your heart is breaking, please know that you are going to make it through this!! Just take a breath because good things are on their way to you right now, I promise. <3

I watched a very emotional movie yesterday and I couldn't forget about it. It's so heart-wrenching! I really hope that I forget about it as soon as possible. And more it makes me feel emotional that it is based on a true story.

I just stumbled upon this video and it’s intriguing. I’m of the opinion that if anything erasing memories would likely result in the individual staying the same but forgetting why they think like they do or why they act like they do. That’s assuming that we end up with the best case because unfortunately the furthest we gotten to altering memory successfully is reconditioning/military training. All other attempts at altering personality have resulted in extreme trauma/death or no personality change. Which leads me to believe that even if something is “forgotten” it still effects our personality and it also seems as only certain events in a individual’s life can alter their personality with said catalysts being different on a individual basis.

There's at least one memory in my head that I want to permanently forget. It causes me stress and anger and puts me in a weird place every time it pops up.
