My advice on haram relationships: drop it completely, cold turkey. We wouldn’t accept our partners half giving up drugs, cheating, gambling, or any other habit that was displeasing to us. Yet, to Allah SWT we want to half give up haram? Islam is about moral consistency, not cherry picking.

Haram relationships doesn't add any value to your life, just drop it, it's poise, make it halal or goodbye and trust Allah he will give you better!!!

Even in the muslim world you will find these western ideals that people chase. The remedy to this is gain taqwa and learn the deen of Allah. All my muslim friends that moved to the UK and Europe since the 90s all stopped practicing Islam as its supposed to be practiced, only one still wears hijab. It's so sad. Everyone else went wild and their children barely know what Islam means apart from some fasting ramadan, that's about it. May Allah keep us all steadfast inshallah. Jazakallah khair.

I really appreciated her saying "you're not meant to fit it". I've been struggling with feeling isolated and lonely, especially since the Islamic community here is small and not very interactive and proactive. But it's true, that isolation is nothing compared to the reassurance that Allah (swt) has better for me. Either here or in the Akhira.
