Abu Hurairah meriwayatkan, Nabi bersabda, “Apabila seorang dari kalian shalat, hendaklah ia menjadikan sesuatu di hadapannya (sebagai sutrah). Bila tidak mendapatkan sesuatu hendaklah ia menancapkan tongkat. Bila tidak ada tongkat, hendaklah ia membuat garis dan tidak membahayakan apa yang lewat di hadapannya.” (HR Ahmad, Abu Daud, Ibnu Majah, Ibnu Khuzaimah, Daruquthni, dan Baihaqi).

Itu namanya sutrah ya teman Rasulullah menganjurkan kepada orang yang melaksanakan shalat untuk meletakkan sesuatu di depannya sebagai sutrah (penghalang). Tujuannya agar orang lain atau sesuatu tidak lewat di depannya. Selain itu, agar pandangannya tidak melebihi sutrah itu sehingga matanya selalu tertuju ke arah tempat sujudnya. Banyak hadis yang memerintahkan hal itu.

Common mistakes among Muslims:

❌Asa Alaikum (May you long for happiness)
❌Asaam-o-Alaikum (Death be with you)
❌Saam-o-Alaikum (Destruction be with you)
❌Sala Le Kum (May you be cursed

✅As salamu alikum (peace be upon you)
Or
✅As salamu alikum warahma tulallahi wabarakatuh (peace be upon you and may the mercy and blessings of ALLAH be upon you)

I wanna say though... Sorry if I sound short-sighted but I'd go behind her or just walk around where her sajadah is not touching, so like the sajadah serves as the borderline yk. Tbh I have been in crowded masjids/mushollas where the sajadah are so close that there are no gap in between. There was no other item that they brought and usually is the case, so I just walked around outside the borders of their sajadah if I was really in a hurry or waited until they finished. I never knew about this though, so thanks!

I guess there are different interpretations and some people who've told me this and that gave me a hadith from one of the imams or a muslim scholar. Not always, but the one who did reassure me more.

As a 12 year old revert this is so useful to me, I reverted when I was 10 but I wasnt a good revert because i made to much mistakes in prayer, now i learned more about islamic prayer and started doing it right Alhamdulillah ❤
