Quick Easy Pepper Steak by Chef Bae

Recipe:

Ingredients:

1 yellow sweet onion cut into thin strips
1 green bell pepper, cut into thin strips
1 1/4 pounds flank steak sliced thin
2 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons minced garlic cloves
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 1/2 tbsp sugar (white)
1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch (powder)
1-2 tsp black pepper (to taste) ((- Hey its Pepper Steak, don’t be shy!!))
1 tsp Garlic powder
1 tsp Onion powder
1 tsp Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning
¼ cup water
1 tsp salt

Instructions:

In a large pan, on medium heat cook the onions, minced garlic and peppers. cook them for approx. 5 minutes or until just tender.

Season the meat with salt, garlic powder, onion powder creole seasoning, and pepper.

Add the meat to the pan with the veggies and cook for 6-7 minutes or until the meat is browned. Stir ingredients thoroughly.

Now add sugar and soy sauce to the pan and stir ingredients.

In a bowl, mix 1/4 cup water and cornstarch together until it resembles milk. Now pour the cornstarch mixture in the pan with the steak and veggies.

Thoroughly stir everything together and bring it to a simmer.

Cook for about 5 minutes or until the sauce is thickened. Serve this over white rice and enjoy.

Great recipe! Especially like the comments about the cast iron pans. I use one that my g-g-grandmother bought when they first arrived in the 1850’s from Ireland.

Interesting and different. This would be a quicker alternative to try when i dont feel like cooking it my traditional way. Always good to try different flavors with the seasonings. Thanks for sharing
