Gas pedal, thumb rest, thumb ledge, it has many names but does it have many practical uses? Find out if your Sig P320, p365, Glock, Walther, CZ, etc needs one of these gizmos to shoot better in today's video!

For my YouTube manual reviewer: I am a certified instructor and range safety officer. This was safely filmed at a private range. This is an unmodified semi-automatic pistol handled by a professional. For the love of god I'm following your rules. There is no content in here that disqualifies the video as being safe for all advertisers and you know it.

You know... you just taught me something about my grip that no one else has ever made so obvious to me. Thank You!

I threw one on my p365 macro, that in addition to a real porting job, made all the difference in the world for me, I honestly thought that the p365 just wasn't for me, way too snappy, hard to shoot quickly. But the ledge did so much, that it made p365 my new favorite carry piece. I even shoot it in competition from time to time 😂
TLDR: Great for small guns, meh for large guns.
Great points in your video, 👌

Blacksteelusa makes the thumb rest on the market

Thanks for the analysis! I think the holster compatibility would make 90% of us not even consider it

As usual another well balanced and fair review. And you make a valid point—that a good holster is much more valuable to EDC than having the pro ledge and being forced to buy a specific off brand holster or modify ing the good one you already have.

With the Glocks you can create a ledge by cutting into the frame. The accelerator cuts are 100 percent worth it. The thumb ledge can save bad trigger pulls if your pushing in and down with your thumb.

I'd recommend the align tactical thumb rest for glocks. the gen 5 one fits in a 43x if you trim off the excess, too, and they're great. It does make it harder to disassemble the gun because you have to push it out enough to get the rest out of the takedown recess but how often do you really need to disassemble a glock?

Picked this up for my carry p365 and ordered up my holster from mckinatec and can’t wait for it! I plan to get their sidecar version to go along with my t1c holster! I enjoyed having it on my p365 though, didn’t think to try it on others lok

This why I tell my younger bro now a days not to fight or get anything with anyone in the streets these days… if you see this nerdy dude around you would never in a million years know he is packing a decked out pistol and knows how to shoot. Everyone has a gun on then these days in this country, don’t underestimate anybody.

I really like the DPM guide rod. Theyre great for high pressure rounds.

If they can convince tier 1 Concealed to have a thumb ledge option in their customization, then they would make a lot of money.

I think you would enjoy the antimatter wing for the tlr7 sub in the G48. Its much larger but folds

Thumb ledges? Buddy, I take offense to that. Be respectful and call them by their proper name: tactical thumb stools.

I got one on my Macro. And it took 3 minutes with dremil to make it fit in my werkz holster… I actually love shooting with it. Great reference point to create my grip faster. 🤙🏽for 32.00$ you can’t beat it.

You are the man love that you told them it didn’t help you at all that’s how I feel about that kind of stuff but who knows maybe it does help some one

The sig shop has the takedown lever version, and notably on the instructions it says not to push directly down to counteract recoil, but to push towards the barrel with your thumb and counteract with your other fingers pushing on the grip, like pinching the gun

I just thrown on a couple stirps of talon grip pros on the front dust cover and call it a day. Same function, but can still use holster. Don't use WML since my 43X/48 is non-MOS. I use WML for 'DUTY' sidearms (G19 and above). My XMacro has a WML (BALDR-Mini GL), but that's night stand or if I know I"m going into the Badlands....

Is that a Herrington Arms comp for gen 5s? I have the flush fitting on my 43x MOS and I'm waiting on the new HC95 for my G45. Great company.

Not my Jam, but I Love 1911 Pistols. I do own 12 Glocks, but that are almost all completely stock. Stay Safe Mr.
