Also take note of the person's willingness to answer questions. An honest person with nothing to hide will have no issues with answering questions. If the question invokes a defensive or dismissive response, then that person is hiding something.

this assumes that the manipulative persons knows why they are doing what they are doing, and if they know what they are doing they would also tell you. it's a good start, but still part of the 'taking things at face value' that the video suggests not to do toward the beginning.

the mind is much more complex than that.
