This is why I love singing men’s songs. There’s no purposeful or subconscious want to try and sound like them. I generally feel like I just sing like me no matter what, no matter the genre.

"Copying someone else's voice is stressful."

Not for me. It's easy for me. What has been hard, is actually finding my own voice and unique style. Thanks for doing this video.

So many people are teased into silence from childhood if they even try to sing, whether they're any good or not. It's lovely to see such advice as this, and so many encouraging comments.

I once dropped a 5kg dumbell on my foot, that was the day I discovered my true singing voice 😂😂

I've been teaching voice for 50 years; this is the first time I've found a voice instruction video on line that makes sense and is very unlikely to cause any harm to a person's voice. Brava!

Dear Victoria.. I practiced your siren and uh oh and ee and other exercises & techniques yesterday. Today, when I started singing a few minutes ago with the same song I always sing. I was suprised that I was able to raise the notes naturally. I think it is the siren and the breathing support that helps me reaching the notes that I wanted to reach with ease.. I tried other voice tips from other you tubers but yours was the best. I was able to do that after watching it yesterday..You are born genius and an excellent teacher that you're able to come up with this great program. I know our native fellows will watch this and they can learn from you! 😍😍😍

She's the real thing. Uncommon but true wisdom. Yes, Victoria is sort of intense, but that's really genuine passion.

I'm the most non-singing person on the planet and this was fascinating!!!😍 You make me want to learn to sing even if the best I can do is sound like a banshee with a hangover.

I'm very bad at English, but because you speak so clearly and don't use any uncommon words, I understand every sentence perfectly with my school English. Thank you very much for your valuable advice. You encourage me to train my voice more and to leave out the vocoder, including autotune.

Greetings from Wolfsburg
Michael

(I used google to translate my comment from German to English uhm 😅)

I tried these exercises in this video.. I must point out that I'm a woman.. I was in chorus as a kid.. I never new my voice could be so.. buttery! So smooth. I've always had a deeper voice as a woman. And I absolutely LOVE singing. But I never knew how to control it. I couldn't "find my voice" so I never pursued music or singing. I am absolutely going to binge watch your videos. I got a glimpse of my voices potential. I'm so shocked. I had no idea I could sing lol thank you!!

I majored in vocal performance at a University on a full scholarship in 2010.
I was jaded and thought I couldn't make money in music, so I joined the military.
In 10 minutes, you have brought slightly back what took a dozen years to take away.
Thank you.

Thank you for this video. I am a disabled veteran and I love to sing. People used to say I sounded good, but now I have facial scars from my time in service. Other instructors wanted me to do exercises I cannot do since I have no upper left lip. Yet your exercises were not affected by this. It gives me something to work on/with. I might never sound good again, but at least I don't have to sound bad. :))

Love this video! It's almost like having a wise friend sitting across from you, grabbing your hand, and saying "no, dear, this is how you do it." Victoria is definitely coming from a compassionate space. So helpful!

I'm a 57-year-old, classically-trained mezzo. I sang high soprano in a small vocal jazz ensemble in high school and, over the course of a few years, moved over to classical and sacred repertoire. It was easy and I loved it.

I sang that way for 25 years and then married a wonderful man who was a singer-songwriter and guitarist. Singing with him was physically stressful because he always placed my songs low in my chest voice. It was uncomfortable.

Now, ten years later, I've lost all of my vocal technique. I never developed one for singing his songs (which he called "americana rock") and have lost my old technique. My throat aches when I sing and my voice quickly gets fatigued.

Singing well is one of the most thrilling, exhilarating things I've ever experienced. I loved it. I loved being a soloist; a good musician; able to sight read almost anything; and able to step into a choir and sing whatever the director needed, from first tenor to first soprano. I loved it. But that's all gone and I don't know how to get it back.

None of my teachers ever gave me information that's useful now. I'm going to follow your videos and see how it goes. So far, so good. And thank you in advance.
