Ravens Release Ray Rice

After the TMZ Sports video of Ray Rice knocking out his then fiancee Janay Palmer surfaced this morning, the Baltimore Ravens have terminated Rice's contract and the NFL has suspended him indefinitely. Ray Rice was serving a 2 game suspension for his actions at an Atlantic City casino where, at that point, only video of Rice dragging Janay Palmer out of the elevator existed.

The 2 game suspension came under heavy criticism and resulted in NFL Commissioner Roger Goodel changing the suspension policy related to domestic violence.

This was just a PR move done by Goodell because he suspended that Cleveland WR a whole season for smoking cannibas (which will be legal in all 50 states in 10 years) & originally suspended Rice for 2 games until that TMZ Sports released a video of him knocking his wife out cold. Reality is the NFL doesn't care about Janay, they're more concerned with their image.

The same people they are outraged by what Ray Rice did to his fiance were the same ones laughing posting memes about Jay Z getting attacked by a female in a elevator and P.S. Rice's fiance hit and spit on him first

I think this was nothing more than a business move for the Ravens. The correct move in my opinion but I see him getting a 1-2 year suspension from the NFL and hopping back on a team.

He will be picked up by somebody this situation is not the end of the world.I feel both were wrong at the end of the day but i show no Sympathy for her or him as a human you should know not to put your hands on anybody male or female you should know not to provoke anybody and i also dont think he knocked her out the rail did

This is obviously unacceptable behavior. As a Ravens fan I am very disappointed in the fact that a guy like him who had always been so kind and giving to others, and so hardworking, got himself into this. But we need to remember that we still don't have the full story. We don't know what had happened before they entered the elevator. However, from the video, we do see her hitting him first. She obviously instigated the fight. Both parties were involved, and both are guilty. I don't agree with the indefinite suspension. I feel that the NFL and Commissioner Goodell acted to quickly. And can we really trust TMZ? This could have been manipulated in some way. In my opinion he will end up back in Baltimore if he plays again. No other team would take him and the bad press to come.

I agree with the decision to release him.

Before this video was released, I was on the side that the suspension was correct and they could move on from this.  After seeing the video, it was more severe than they made it sound.  

My only request is that the same punishment be made regardless of the gender and race of the victim and offender.  Hopefully the nfl gets this right.

I smell hypocrisy here so the nfl now decided to suspend ray rice longer than 2 games why the double jeopardy didn't they see the video the first time.  And didn't the ravens see the footage either.  Its ridiculous ray rice has a case to sue the nfl and tmz what gives tmz the right to release the footage.

Have to take into consideration that she was going at him.  Remember that there is a player - who will remain nameless - that had dogs fighting each other, served time in jail for this, and is not playing ball again.  Hate it when people feel the need to be excessive because of public outcry.

I really hate saying this but I hope he gets picked up by my Patriots because belichick would straight him up and if he fucks up once the won't release him they will probably bench him for 1 season

When domestic violence is between gay men do people care as a thought but I'm guessing you never ever thought of it happening because two men are somehow equally strong and should be able to solve it with a handshake and a beer. I digress I have not seen the video because the description alone is enough. He is rich and won't struggle for a a meal and she is still with him therefore we can only focus on Educating the youth not to follow that route. He deserves everything he gets and won't be missed anytime soon.

This is a pretty easy decision since Ray Rice is old and was imo one of the worst starting running backs in the league. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have made the same decision if it was a young first round draft pick with huge potential.
