Being Nice at Work is a Superpower

People are often unreasonable and self-centred.

Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives.

Be kind anyway.

If you are honest, people may cheat you.

Be honest anyway.

If you find happiness, people may be jealous.

Be happy anyway.

The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow.

Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough.

Give your best anyway.

For you see, in the end, it is between you and God.

It was never between you and them anyway.

In my eyes, this would apply at work too. No matter how tough things get, we can try to live by our values.

Yes, it's important to be assertive and express our feelings. Yet, it can be done kindly and with grace.

Ask yourself this question often - “Did I respond in the most graceful way possible”? and if the answer is no, next time, think more before acting.

I have been nice and kind to everyone since my childhood but it's reflected back very hardly. I mean only a few people reflected it back to me but it doesn't make me change my nature. I will still be myself, kind and caring. Not for respect or recognition from others but for my own satisfaction and happiness. Helping others gives me true happiness and satisfaction than anytime else I do.

This implies in school between friends too. I always keep my behaviour kind and stay clam, try to understand second person views and except the fact that if someone is rude or irritated that's their nature and everyone have their own ways of reacting at different situations, this thought stops me from fighting or being rude to them and helps me in making better bonding with everyone😊😊😊

Yeah, I accept this. Even though I am not working, I am sharing my experience in schools and colleges while studying. I am actually a person who will accept and agree that whatever others have shared since my childhood. Every time in school/college, at first, classmates used to think I was a people pleaser, but after few months they start to realize I am not a people pleaser but a person just accepts and agrees with others opinions, thoughts etc. They have started sharing everything with me and also used to come for advice.

Everyone needs to hear this out, we have normalised things which we don't want to happen with us, but we do those things to others and call it necessary. But being empathetic, humble, accepting other people actually gives us more respect and make our place in people's hearts 🥰. And yeah I've experienced this happening in my life too.

It's the best thing I have heard in present times
It's very true, I was just brainwashed that people at work are very cunning
By trying to protect myself from all the basically presuming that all are cunning
I became harsh which actually is a worst thing I could do to myself and others

I guess workplace is just as any other place in the world.

Very true. All the great leaders in the world are empathetic, kind and always have encouraging words and do not criticize. We can always have a productive conversation by being nice. Infact that works faster and is more motivating. Being 'strict' (disciplined) is different than being harsh to someone at work. All of you at satvic movement are so kind.. as Subah also says " it's not WHAT you say, it's HOW you say it. " 🥰

Yup. People becomes harsh sometimes when they reach heights by knowing that others won't reply. So the distance is made. Instead if they increase their politeness then they got more pleasant company.
