With a sturdy cast frame, tool steel blades and extra long leverage handle, this shear is a must-have tool for any fabricator. It will easily handle a full 8 inch cut of 11 gauge steel and will even shear up to 3/16 inch in smaller widths, plus up to 3/16 inch round bar. The throatless design allows for continual cutting in a straight line - with a helper you can cut a 4 foot x 8 foot sheet in half! I bought this cutter about 3 years ago. It works great, I never had a problem with it until now. While cutting metal bands off a wine barrel the Material Foot which keeps the tension spring on the cutter came off. I have called customer support for help reattaching the tension spring. No help, other than good luck. I've taken the cutter apart and have tried to reattach the spring to no avail. Any help out there? I just need the sequence of how the spring is attached. Thanks
