How to Raise Successful Kids

Would you rather have your child be one who ceremoniously follows his religion, scriptures and rituals or one who is a compassionate, good human being but with no knowledge of religion and traditions?

One day sooner or later, your child will ask you questions about rituals and scriptures. They will question the importance and value of religion and rationale of rituals. When coming across this, parents should remember their own attitudes towards religion when they were children and adolescents. Parents have a tendency to force traditions and religious practices upon their children, not realizing that this may in fact discourage them. It is similar to any other lecture or advice we give them-they usually do not take our word for it.

The best way to teach religion without preaching it is through actions. Your actions alone set an example for children and they will sooner or later follow these actions. The love, compassion and humility they will witness when brought up in a loving and caring environment can teach them much more than simply reading a scripture. It is through these actions that they can feel the essence of religion.

Allow your child to grow in a free environment, as themselves, and they will grow beautifully. Make sure that you do not lecture, but engage in lively conversations with them-humour goes a long way. And remember to always lead by example.

How can immature childish parents raise good children - impossible! Parents should be training themselves to be respectable by meaning speech and acting upon speech. Even animals can raise their children. The animal children grow up faster than men's. Men are allowed to be immature far too long, At the age of 15, they should be considered as adult, and for this time frame, parents and the society influence the children to be spiritually independent. Parents, stop spoiling the children and yourselves. Grandparents, stop interfering with grandchildren's upbringing. Just show them how much you love and enjoy loving them, instead of teaching them how to do things in your old-fashioned way.
