I have had an ear infection in my right ear and silicon tips are uncomfortable ever since. I upgraded from AirPods 2 to AirPods 4 w/ ANC. I am extremely happy with the upgrade.

The move from lightning to USB-C and wireless, and the anc/ transparency mode was well worth the upgrade. There is a noticeable improvement in the low-end frequencies as well.

Here’s what I’ve noticed, the silicone tips aren’t comfortable for everyone. Some people prefer the open ear design. The noise canceling is going to sound better on the Pros 2 because of them creating a seal. I have the 4s and there solid earbuds and fit comfortably, with no ear pain. It’s all down to personal preference. Do you prefer silicone and better noice canceling or would you prefer the better comfort if you prefer that and less noise canceling. Don’t sleep on the noise canceling on the 4s though it’s solid!

Apples strategy is to make you curious enough about the 4’s that you’ll buy them which you will. And then when the pro 3’s come out you’ll by those as well. It’s perfected perpetual consumerism. I own both as well.

Nothing to compare here. Airpods Pro 2 are clear winner. Nothing will replace in ear tips for sound and noise cancelling.

Guys if u dont like eartips at all get the 4 anc but if u jus dont like the sillicone ones.try foam eartips they might be better for u.Also if u dont have a problem with eartips in general (which is most people). if u live in the USA u can get the airpods pro 2 with much more features and better sound quality and anc for just 10 usd more.also u can get the same type of esr case promoted in the video for the airpods pro 2 as well for the exact same price on amazon.hope this helped

Had the OG AirPods Pro, upgraded to the AIrPods Pro 2. Nice upgrade and Best Buy bought my old air to bring the price down.

I would also add that sometimes you have specific use cases, I know this is overkill but personally I ended up getting these three for their specific use cases:

Max: You have space in your bag, you want maximum ANC (plane / train / coffee shop, etc), you're not doing anything active and it's not a hot day (when it's hot, they're not the most comfortable) - these get around 20% use for me, more so in autumn/winter.

Pro 2: You're travelling light, you're not going to wear them for an extended period, you're not going to excessively sweat like on a jog (they start to come out then), you're not taking long calls (sounds unnatural with silicone in your ears) - these also get around 20% use for me, more so in summer/spring.

4 ANC: You're in a quiet to medium loudness environment, or you're doing intense exercise, you're taking many prolonged calls and using them for extended periods or you're frequently putting them on / taking them off - these get around 60% use for me.

The deciding factor for a lot of people will be whether they have ear tips or not.

If I had to pick, it would be the ANC AirPods 4. My only real question is: how do these fit during a workout? I imagine they’ll do fine on a walk or even a light jog, but if they don’t do well otherwise, I’ll probably use something like the Beats Fit Pro for more dynamic workouts.
