SDA Church president, Ted Wilson, warns Adventists to not question the authority of their leaders which should send off red flags in any thinking persons mind.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ:

They are born again of the Spirit (1 John 5:1, Titus 3:5), adopted into His family (Eph. 4:5–7), and are granted eternal resurrection life in Jesus Christ (1 John 5:11), set free to do good works that please Him (Eph. 2:10; 1 John 2:3-4). Jesus will physically return one day to judge the living and the dead (1 Peter 4:5; Acts 24:15; John 5:24-5), throwing the wicked out of His Kingdom (Matt. 13:41-3), but His people will be spared from the wrath to come (1 Thess. 1:10) to dwell in union with God forever (Rev. 21:3).

@ 2:20 - real truth not only can handle criticism, it welcome sincere criticism as an opportunity to present actual scripture teaching. Christians welcome the opportunity to discuss their beliefs. I noticed when I was SDA I would get upset and stressed out when debating anything "religious." but now am not concerned about how I look, but about how God can use me to get through to someone.

Any reference to the "Spirit of Prophecy" is a reference to Ellen White's writings and teachings, not the Holy Spirit that comes from God. This is what they uphold and quote and revere...

Been in an adventist school before. I felt so sad for the church being so blinded. Instead of having the spirit of joy because of salvation, they have this spirit of fear because of these human rules they advocate. 😔

I used to attend the SDA church. It was never as weird as it seems to be now. We taught children's ministry and always kept to the biblical stories. I don't think I ever heard that kind of almost blasphemous comment of how everything said and discussed by them is by the Holy Spirit. We are all human. We have opinions. Mine may not agree with yours, but I do not claim that mine are from the Holy Spirit.

The pillars you alluded to were not to save sinners but they are important doctrines from the Bible which keeps the believers separate from the world. The gospel must not only to be told but also lived. This is what makes Adventist belief different from other protestants who care less about the lives of their members while anticipating translation at the second coming.
It must be made clear that what you practice testifies of your faith. You can not testify your faith in God while indulging in the lust of your flesh. You have to make a decision to stand for God or face God's wrath. Remember, God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Period

I believe the Apostle Paul gave instruction to the Early Christian Church concerning respect for Authority and for the Unity of the Doctrine. Obviously, there must be harmony in the Church, as divisions can cause harm to the Body of Christ.

But what we see here is a denominational structure that requires obedience and submission from the Laity, to the direction and order of the Conference leadership, albeit attributed to the work of the Holy Spirit.

Nevertheless, this type of system mimics both Pagan Rome and Papal Rome, and diminishes greatly any good accomplished by the Protestant Reformation.

It also insures that a religious collective stays in power, at the expense of Individuality, epiphany, and revelation.
