I kind of screwed up a snare recording... let's fix it in the mix! In this example I use Neutron 2 dynamic EQ.

W O W, I love this video and that type of attitude when mixing. Respect!

Nice tips!! What about reamp the snare like that guy on creative sound lab did? And if my memory is ok, you did it too on a kick in a past video. Could be another (perfeccionist) alternative.

Nice as ever. Interesting that you used the SPL Transient Designer. I got the UAD version when it first came out, but pretty much always used first the Alloy and now the Neutron exclusively. Maybe I should dig back and compare.

How about bad hi hat bleed? When you have a drummer who played the tracks with their hats to open during very dynamic parts of a song. Had you been the producer and tracking engineer this would not have slipped but you’re receiving these tracks to mix. Any suggestions. Phase cancellation doesn’t work, compression, de-essing, nothing. The hat is just in everything and over powering the mix. You work with bands who play a lot of trash open hats. What’s the secret?

Really love the intro music! Is it "standalone" or written for intro?

Snare sounds like garbage itself. No amount of EQ can make it sound good.
