I was in DC when Coach Gibbs first came to the Redskins-and went to all the home games. Starting 0-5 was not expected, even from a rookie coach. The 6th game is when Gibbs dropped the "Air Coryell" offense (Theisman was a bum, BTW) and went to "Jumbo"w/ two tight ends and running the ball 30x's a game.
Fast forward 11 years when Joe came back...I was locked up in Fairfax County jail and those 4 wins Joe talks about after Taylor's murder were the most magical days I can ever remember sports wise. It made that time in jail tolerable.

He at least got the Redskins back to respectability for a little while despite Dan Snyder being the owner.

He’s still the only coach to win a Super Bowl with 3 different quarterbacks. What’s more impressive is none of them were particularly good.

As an Eagles fan I hated Coach Gibbs, but now I have enormous respect for him. Probably hated him bc the Redskins would often kick our ass and go on to win the SB

Ony one other man could tell me to run through a wall and I would ask "how many of then would you like?" Leadership ability on a Churchill level.

If Gibbs didn't come back we may have found out just how good Schottenheimer really was....

As an Eagles fan, I throughly enjoyed Gibbs return to coaching. Not sure if he was still there in 2010, when Redskins took McNabb off our hands. But much appreciated if so 👌
