I definitely agree on a lot of points here, especially on not wanting someone else to work on your stuff and breaking into the industry. Breaking into the comic industry, even though the exploding Webcomic industry with several sites from Webtoons to tapastic seem to make things easier by already having a platform available to post your work on, you still have to be able to maintain your stuff and know that you have a ton of work ahead of you. I've been running my webcomic, Phantom Eclipse now for a year and a half, but I can't seem to really get the traction I need to reach my goal. Plus, people come for the fight scenes and seem to leave as soon as we move onto another part. It takes a lot of work and patience.

21:49 damn dude and I sometimes think I have it rough working basically 2 jobs (80+ hours weekly) to get my stuff out. Nothing compared to what you're doing 😢😨

Its almost IMPOSIBORU to create an anime by yourself, my recomendation: Begin with Loquendo or a Visual Novel here in Youtube, you can start from that and if you are lucky or talented enough some day somebody with money will contact you and your dream will finally begin

When people tell me "there is more talent in real movies than anime" I just laugh at them. They have no idea...

Again, thanks for inviting me on to essentially shoot the shit about animation. While it's definitely a harsh reality of sorts, if you go into it with realistic expectation and essentially a passion for story telling, you can definitely make your own animated series. That doesn't guarantee success, or that people will enjoy what you do, but if you can find a good balance to tell your story and satisfy your own desire, then you can do it. It's hard road, filled with tons of doubt, insecurity, anxiety, depression but it also comes with satisfaction, enjoyment and pride.

We definitely get stressed out and I get that some people don't understand why there's so much stress, but sometimes it falls onto our own desire to improve and do better. I enjoy what I do, I enjoy the challenge to learn more and improve. If making something is an urge you can't get rid of then I highly recommend pursuing it as best you can. It can suck at times, but if it's something that brings you joy, do it. It's okay to take breaks and hiatuses to regroup. Just have fun with your story and the journey to making it real, wherever that takes you.

If I go to Japan I’m gonna make a anime that has to do with 7 people with the main character and the main character has these 5 demons he eventually tamed and uses their power to fight then he gains the power of a god im still thinking about it I’ll make the anime after more thinking about the story names and other important things (I’m 11 so don’t think this is gonna be my dream when I grow up and if it is it would be a big failure and I’m just gonna be homeless)

When he said that rivalry helps you improve, that shit spoke to me on a personal level lmao. Fifth grade, I thought I was a good artist (I wasn’t). I went to my relatively new friend’s house. I asked if he wanted to have a draw-off (drawing competition). When I was done with my drawing, I was kind of happy with it, but his was amazing. I just got served a big heaping plate of humble pie. Through the years, I’ve improved, and to this day, I’d say we’re about even in skill. Crazy journey.
