Don’t let anyone have an influence on what you want. If you want something, you can always have it. It just depends on how much you want to face your fears.

The advice that to give out about pursuing a career in the craft is true . My father is an actor, and he told me that being in the film industry gives you a harsh reality that drama schools, auditions for huge role doesn’t set expectations for you that you’d hope for even if you’ve trained, rejections hit you hard . And the best thing to do, if you truly enjoy acting, is to keep acting for the fun it, but it has to as a side job or else you would end up with no other option for your future. Love watching your videos and I hope that the people who’ve watched it understands that ❤😊

Dont go into any of the arts to "Make it" go into it because you love it. Find a way to support yourself, and be an artist/ craftsman.

It sucks because I think the reason a ton of actors get turned down is because most people don't really care about the art for acting and only see the big pay cheque. Which is why for actors who really care about the art and want to pursue a career find it difficult. They have to compete with millions of other people who only care about the money and fame.

0:23 I might be crazy, but if someone gave me everything right away I won’t be fulfilled. The fact that I earn something is what makes me ready for it 🙂
Edit: I am a big believer that luck is opportunity that meets preparation

I know it’s crazy, but for some reason the idea of that kind of grinding fight excites me I don’t know why but I love it. I guess I’m just messed up in the head. Lol 😅

I know and have met people in the industry. The one thing that is the most important thing is to help you get into the industry is connections.

That's the reality folks. 22 yrs in my career, the training, the schools etc. Moments of work, followed by dry spells...big paydays to nothing....and yet still going. There is a lot of hard working talented folks out there. It's luck in the top 1%. Keep going if it's fun.

Honestly I think it just takes hard work, dedication, consistency, persistence, and GOD! And you will make it!

I really appreciate hearing this! I like the honesty and it just goes to show Acting is something you should NEVER do for the money or the fame because it rarely comes along with it. The passion you carry for it is the best reason to pursue acting. Fall in love with being able to tell a story and being able to relate to all kinds of different characters. To anyone and everyone out there reading, if this is what you want don’t give up!

Networking your ass off is also something that will get you ahead. Find people where you are or that are living close to you that are in the film industry. Facebook groups and Stage 32 are good places to find those people. Build up your resume and when the time is right move to a bigger market so you can do better projects.

I really appreciated this. I believe it makes you ask yourself WHY you want to pursue this craft. You have to love it and love is investing even if there is not always a return. There is the risk/ sacrifice. Find your personal return and it won’t disappoint. You must believe in yourself but understand everyone pursuing this craft also believes in themselves and only one person gets the job. The work must be meaningful to you.

With this said, that's why the top actors and coaches say don't do this for the money.

thank you! i hammered this into my head the second i realized that in my acting shool. we gotta do our part and stay aware but not more is in our control. with luck as the biggest aspect you really shd be honest to yourself and accept the reality.

it's all about good looks and/or just someone liking you, everything else is irrelevant. It's the same with every high paying jobs including corporate jobs while you may get a job, the top jobs, yeah someone has to recommend you, like you. Networking is more important than anything for a reason. The nepos are not getting jobs because they're talented, it's because they know someone who knows someone. It explains why there are many PR relationships out there. When you look at most top actors right now, they either started many years ago doing small budget movies, built a good network and took off from there or they knew someone who helped them. Be in a real world and not a fantasy one

I love acting with my whole being and I truly believe that I will never be fulfilled if I can’t become a working actor. I’m hoping to look into getting a degree in maths/accounting AND drama/theatre studies, so I can work in a different industry while pursuing acting. I’m in the UK though, so I don’t think I could afford to study two different degrees. Thank you for being honest with your supporters, hopefully we can move forward with a more sustainable plan. 🔥

Thanks for such an advice and your wisdom to help many of us to fight to get through all the way up. You can be the best actor in the world, if you don't offer yourself the chances to accomplish your dream, it's like playing the Lottery only once, but to win the jackpot, you need to play everyday. 🔥
