Why You're Failing Skill Assessment Test

Today we're exploring recruiting skill assessment test. Universally hated by hiring managers, recruiters and candidates alike, they're here to stay because they're effective. I'll give you some advice on where to find skill assessment test answers and psychometric tests and some of the best strategies on how to pass skill assessment test. If you don't pass the skill assessment test, you won't be invited for a job interview. No job interview, no job offer. Easy math there, so let's get this right.
When it comes to recruiting assessment tests, there's a ton of misinformation out there. I'm hoping to bring some clarity. #SkillAssessmentTest #PersonalityTest #Recruiting

*Note, this was my first attempt at using a green screen. Overall it came out pretty good, although there are a few rough spots in the beginning. Be kind in the comments.

If assessments work then why are employers complaining about a lack of qualified candidates? They need to go away.

I failed about 5 assessments. I don't know why . I try my best all the time. I truly believe it discrimination. Who's to say a person is a bad candidate . They can be an excellent worker.

just had to take one and had this happen, tbh this is the issue. A person like me no matter how much preperation, no matter how well i prepare, will not do as great as someone who excels in that sord of thing. I have severe test anxiety, a lot of the times i over think my issues, or my brain gets confused on basic questions. I think these need to be taken away, and just see how well someone does at a job, is it more risky, sure. But I guarantee if the job is offering a high salary, the worker is not going to slack or risk losing that. These are the issues that I believe is wrong with this country, these are my opinion, people who are for this, are never going to agree with me and that's cool, but I think this country needs to change, their is so many things in the way that holds people back from succeeding, and staying at a dead end jobs, and these are one of the issues. Like I said these are my opinions, but I also feel it's laziness, because real human connection can be so much better, you get a real feel of someone in an interview. Now they are using these to determine someone's worth, that's pretty horrible.

What I find interesting is I'm applying for dishwashing position in the assessment/skills test has nothing to do with the job and has everything to do with the psychological evaluation before they even call me in for an interview

I could understand if it asked questions specifically related to the job and whether or not I could handle the job but it doesn't

The process is gamed. No wonder the job culture is more like a production line rather than healthy. It’s less human nature and more KPI’s

Huge time waster. Customer service questions should never be multiple choice. Lots of them should be based on how you respond to the question. Even more ridiculous is that those scenarios don't really relate to the job, but are generalized questions. That's like asking a graphic design how to design a logo.... What logo? What is it for? There is no straight answers. These tests always fail to address with multiple choice.

I just (probably) failed one, and they asked questions that were not related to the job description

Back in the stone age when we used to go in and fill out an application with a real human, they had written tests which did the same thing with asking the same question with different wording. Except back then we had to do it in ink on actual paper.

Yeah I hate these tests.

I just took a prevuehub test yesterday and I don’t feel good about it 😂. My recruiter was nice enough to tell me to google prevuehub to get an idea, I did, but of course the actual test has different variations of the questions. I didn’t complete 2 of the 5 parts within the time. I’ll find out if I’m still scheduled for the next interview step this Tuesday or Wednesday. Then I have an assessment test for Geico to do today, after my interview with another company this afternoon. How’s that for time management. I guess it’s a good problem to have 😅

Do you have any information like this on a Post Offer Employment Test -particularly the physical kind? I just failed such a test with a machine measuring tasks that I literally have done in one form or another in REAL jobs most of my life -whereas now I’m asked to push or pull as hard as I possibly can or play on a peg board while kneeling and then stand and then kneel … while the physical parts of the test are valid, I feel that the machines measuring this and the “real life examples” given as comparison leave gaps for REAL activity.

As an example given:
I was asked to push or pull as hard as I possibly could in a task likened to pushing or pulling a loaded pallet Jack … the machine was set to measure my force -But in REALITY, if I had a non budging pallet Jack, I’d be investigating to see why it wasn’t moving, I WOULDN’T apply force until exhaustion. (The phrase “work smarter not harder” comes to mind).
