So you got the interview… but now what?
How do you impress enough to actually get the job?

Performing well in your interview is ESSENTIAL if you want to be considered for the role.

The BIGGEST mistake people make when it comes to interviews is that they focus too much on themselves… but in an interview it’s not really about you, it’s about what the company you’re interviewing for WANTS IN YOU.

In this short video, I share three things to remember when it comes to the interview, to make sure you impress the interviewing panel enough to get the job.

1. Stand out from others by preparing specific examples that highlight your strengths and achievements.
2. Ask insightful questions to keep the interview flowing and make it seem more organic.
3. Interview them. Have some questions up your sleeve that you can ask, about the culture, challenges or anything else important to you.

What’s your favourite interview tip? Share it with me in the comments!

And good luck with your next interview!

Job Interviewer: It says on your resume that you went to Harvard University

Me: Yeah. I was visiting my friend.

Good advice, not just for interviews, but about life in general too - we always think everything is about us! It's so much easier when you realise everybody is the star of their own movie, and life works better if we pan out to see the bigger picture, of which we are a part.

Great tips! Actually, this hits two birds with one stone. 1) you appear genuinly interested in them by asking questions and 2) you throw the ball to their side of the court by switching the focus of the interview from you to them. Simple and effective! 👏🏻

I take hundreds of interviews every year to select for so many positions in our company. We in our panel dont like it when someone starts interviewing our company during the conversation, , we give separate time to every candidate after our questions are over, asking, ' our questions are over you can ask anything if you want to'. And then actual interview starts. Because results are more depended on questions they ask, It gives us clear idea the actual mental state and priorities in a candidate's mind. Ofcourse their answers play an important role in the judgement but questions they ask gives us what are they looking for in our company. Academic capabilities plays very nominal role in the result of an interview. So my advice is wait for right moment to ask questions.

Her recommendations are spot on. True she is incredibly beautiful, but her drive to help women achieve their goals is what stands out most.

Asking them what examples they're looking for, I've never thought of that. Great, simple tip that takes the focus off just you as a candidate.

It all sounds good when you say it, the sad reality is that we judge someone subconciuslly the first 15-20 sec, after that it's very hard to shift that.
