The same fix helped me save hundreds of dollars on my induction stove. Googled the fault and found a video showing me how to swap two faulty capacitors for the price of a cheeseburger. Vids like yours help alot!

Great work, Sarah. Working on instrument clusters is a real pain, but you make it look easy. Those solder joints look better than new! Keep it up. Love your channel.

Just when I thought I couldn't possibly respect you any more than I already do, you turn it up a notch. I know everyone gets hate but nobody can take away your knowledge and skill set.

today in june 2021 I fixed my tachometer, thanks for your video. I only had a doubt when I was checking on the capacitor polarity, the original capacitors in my tachometer had no negative strip or any other indication of polarity. At the end, thanks to the visual aid of your video, and the quick reference you made to where the polarity mark was facing I installed it correctly and it is working perfectly.

Thanks! I thought the 30 yr old electrolytic capacitor in my tach might be the issue but without a capacitance meter a little validation with video of the symptom is really helpful!

Greetings from Torrance! Awesome video Miss Sarah! I was inspired by this video to try and fix my 1993 camry's tachometer. Thankfully we have an electronics store nearby and was able to buy both capacitors for 50 cents. After replacing the capacitors, I now have a working tach. It hasn't worked in probably decades. (Seriously) Thanks so much for a very detailed video. Keep up the great work!

I love how you detail the parts when you repair them, adds so much to the build.

Having soldered for the last 30+ years, there really is no reason on a cap to worry about heat. With your flux, and a clean working area on the printed circuit board, the amount of time you have to apply heat is so minimal that it wont hurt the cap. Other things like ICs, and some transistors you have to take precautions, caps not so much.. Congrats of the repair!

Been watching your videos and remembered this video because my 3000GT tach also had the same issue as yours.I finally had the chance to remove my gauge cluster and replace the 2 capacitors and it is now working again.THANKS!

My Supra from 1988 has the same old-style electronics. From what i understand, most of these can be modded.

Thabks for documenting this. Im sure ill have to do mine once i get the 1jz into my car.

Good job. I used to work for a company making circuit boards, and what you did isn't easy.

Love the fact that you don't try and fake a personality that is not genuine and I really admire your attention to detail (and am kinda jealous or your soldering skills). Keep up the great vids!

In the past I have worked with electronics and they do have different sizes of copper braided wire to the pull the soldier away just like you were doing with the wire. Great job improvising!
