The redesigned 2023 Kia Niro EV brings with it expectations from those already familiar with what this compact electric vehicle (EV) is capable of – namely ease of operation, outsized interior space, and the ability to overachieve on a single charge. And while it has everything it needs to do all that and more, including more range on paper than its predecessor, real-world struggles stand in the way of the new Niro’s overall success.

I have a 2019 Niro EV and with my driving the range is 480+ km in warmer weather and 360 to 440 in colder temps. The car has over 166, 000 km and I see very little to no degradation of the battery.

Awesome review! I have a 2023 Niro EV I got mine at the end of April when the weather was still cool, and I have to say the range was poor in the beginning, but when battery preconditioning is enabled, it makes a huge difference, I was getting anywhere from 420-450, and now that the weather is warmer I’m seeing 480+ which is fantastic. I was charging every other day, but for the last few weeks, it’s been every three days. My commute isn't too bad as I drive from Mississauga to Bolton daily for work. As for the trunk, I believe the press car doesn’t have a dual-load floor, but my car does. I noticed that in some other videos. I guess not all models come with them. Keep up the great work!

Right now in the summer I'm getting 460km and 13.5kwh per 100. So far so good, but will be interesting to see what I get in the winter.

On level 2 (blink charging company) can you expect 5 hours for 10-70 percent (or more like 30 mile of range per hour?)

Thanks for the video. Did your trim have battery pre conditioning and was that used when you mentioned the slow charging? Thanks

They should make an update to the original Hyundai Ioniq, I am easily doing 11.5 kW/100 km in the summer and you just can't get an EV that does better than this 8 year old EV...
I have put in a reservation in for an Aptera, it should beat everything out there with a huge margin (while looking truly alien)
