i really appreciate your emphasis on telling WHY we should be doing something. it's so helpful in actually learning, rather then just going through the motions b/c that's what other artists do

0:41 - something that helps with this is to create a folder (or pinterest board, or something similar) of artists' works that you're inspired by and want to take influence from. That way you can keep going back and eyeing over their work any time you want, especially specific pieces that really inspire you. Just remember to include their username so you can always trace the art back to the user. :)

I have this going on and every time I wanna experiment, I open the folder and flip through the image and just study them and take note of how I might be able to have that look in my own art.
