It’s all about helping each other. When I worked as a Paramedic, I encouraged patients to ask questions about their condition. A lot of practitioners just treat patients, they don’t educate them. My sister now a senior was born due to a difficult birth delivery (breech birth) with cerebral palsy. She is 4 feet 7 inches tall and wears a child size shoes. I purchase 2 pairs of New Balance Tennis Shoes for her. Right Foot 2 W and Left Foot 3.5 W. Indeed it is expensive to purchase 2 pairs of shoes to equal one pair. I would like to purchase her a pair of flat dress shoes but see I have an alternative to custom fit the one shoe if I order a size 3.5W dress shoe. She does have orthotics to insert into her tennis shoes the reason I have to consider the depth of the shoe to accommodate the inserts. Very happy to see this video. I will contact your office in the near future for an evaluation of my sisters feet and to get additional information for a custom fit by purchasing one pair of shoes. I worked 💪 at Nordstrom in 1990, when they 1st came to the East Coast in Tyson Corner, Virginia. And the doctor said what I was about to type. Rarely, Nordstrom would split shoe sizes for customers. It's not a common occurrence though.

I have Cerebral Palsy With hip dysplasia. As a child I had this issue having one foot smaller that the other hand to have special shoes made and wear a AFO. plus had to have Achilles tendon surgery at two then again at 21 due to spasticity over the years so that I could start walking. as well but thank God my leg foot caught up to my right foot. My left leg is 1" shorter than my right leg now. I gained 1/2 in. in length after my second surgery. I live alone and I can drive pay bills manage my on money. If you believe God can he will. I was born 3months early weigh-in at 16oz. on a Tues afternoon Dr. did not expect me to live pass 5pm but look at God I'm still here 46yrs. later. The God I serve is absolutely amazing.

I remember as a kid, my mum used to buy me shoes that were 2 or 3 sizes bigger, and then she'd fill up the toe part with cotton wool.

My husband's feet were two different sizes. He was a breech birth, difficult delivery, and had a broken foot from being pulled out as quickly as they could to save his life almost 70 years ago. He wore orthopedic shoes as a child to try to correct his feet.

I AM that someone. I have CP...MY Left Foot is bigger than the right AND I have lymphedema, too. There needs to be a shoe exchange where people can give away the shoes they don't need. Like if a person buys two different-sized pairs of the same shoe to make a fitting pair, there would be a place to give the "leftovers" to someone else with same sizing issue just opposite.

I never even knew, or realized, that this existed. When I was growing up there was a child with a club foot in our street, very cool kid, but that's about all I know about someone with a "different" foot. Thank you for educating us; well appreciated, Dr. Jefferson.

Omg I was born with spina bifida 55 yrs ago and have 2 different shoe sizes . I have caused myself to develop hammertoes due to wearing the wrong size shoe and at one point ended up in the hospital due to an ulcer and infection in the larger foot. Had I known this I could have saved myself so much trauma embarrassment etc. Thank you so much for this info . It's too late to undo some surgical procedures but I Can be comfortable from here on out.
