Cool to see that Lidio did the auto swap on your car, hes been tuning my cars for almost 20 years. I would keep it old school with the vortech setup. I run a v2 Si trim on my FRPP big bore 2v it made 700whp at 15#'s on e85. Lately, I've been thinking of upgrading to JT or Ysi and swapping in an auto.

What a trip down memory lane…. I remember reading and rereading your Cobra’s build thread back in the day. I’d love to see you run it at the strip in its current form, mint it out, update its parts (bigger blower, new suspension, 6R80?, etc.) and rerun it at the track. What ever you decide to do I’m here for it. 💪🏼😎

Great video and nice to hear the back story. I’m nearing the end of a “restoration” on a 2001 cobra myself. I like the Saleen bumpers but I don’t think I’d give up the factory 99/01 front for one. I’d also consider going back to irs now that the aftermarket has it all figured out. Plus you can have the nice polished irs tailpipes that really make a new edge cobra what it is. Oh and 6r swap it if you want to stay auto

FYI the 99-01 OEM Cobra front bumpers are worth quite a penny, especially in good condition. Easily $1, 000 + (not to be confused with the 03-04 Cobra front bumpers, those are replicated and found at a reasonable prices). Its the early non-supercharged Cobras from the 99-01 model year that have a unique front bumper that are no longer made or replicated by any company.

I was a Moderator on Stangnet from 1998 to 2018 and also wrote articles for them. They moved to iRacing and wrote for them. Never liked those Forgelines. The wheels on it look much better in my opinion. The cage is hideous. Why does it need a cowl hood? The 1998 two nostril Cobra hood was beautiful. Or since your getting the Saleen front nose then matching Saleen hood. Cowl hoods are so 1970’s with the shoebox hoods. I just traded my Cervini Cowl hood for a stock one and cash.

Interesting. A lot of work for only 504rwhp. What did it end up running? I make 540rwhp on my stock longblock 4r75w 04 Mach with a Vortech V1 S and have been 10.42 at 3660lbs.

Godzilla swap it. You can build a godzilla to put out 700+ hp N/A on pump gas, then boost it to well over 1K hp
