Dark Souls 2, But I Fall On My Face Every Time I Attack (NG+ Fresh Start)

Can I beat Dark Souls 2 using only the Special L2 attacks of the Smelter Hammer starting fresh on NG+? The smelter hammer has a unique 2-handed spinning attack that literally launches your character forward and face down upon the ground. Doesn't sound so bad? Well, in addition I also cannot wear any armor or level up vitality. Meaning that I will permanently fat roll and have to deal with massively reduced stamina regeneration against new game plus enemies.

Man, I was playing Baldurs Gate 3 recently and I got into a fight with a Witch who made illusory clones of herself, and I couldnt tell which Witch was each Witch, was reminded of your videos and started laughing. Now that's some long term entertainment.

Lvl 1 runs, only leveling one stat, no rolling, etc are all amazing and interesting in their own right, but this channel does the best challenge runs by far

The Fume Knight fight was particularly interesting for this run. Drinking estus directly behind him always baits his overhead slam, which always empowers his sword, which prevents him from entering second phase. Pure coincidence that this play style is really good for fighting him specifically.

As a heads up for future DS2 runs, the Blossom Kite Shield is actually *hurting* you here rather than helping. The shield has enough weight that equipping it actually makes your stamina regain slower than the benefit the shield provides. The shield is only useful if you are using it as a shield, since it basically becomes almost a 0 weight shield.

So if you aren't using it as a shield, do not use it, your stamina will actually regen slower 99% of the time. It's only really useful at extremely low equip load, or if you're actively blocking with it.

51:55- i just realized why the king couldn't defeat Nashanda. We, as players, can easily dodge around the curse orbs. But players are almost always the smallest characters in a souls game.
The king's hit box is too big to avoid the curse orbs. He is playinmg one of those "get 5% biggest with every kill" challenge runs, and hit the boss he can't beat due to his scaling.
