I am a Senior lady, age 73, and I just viewed your video with (on Jan’s channel) Jan NYC Saves Money and with Money Mom! An awesome show I highly recommend. Good questions and great answers.

My tip on food issues: eat in dining room and fix a more formal meal with your best dishes! Any birthdays, holidays, Sunday meals are great in this setting.
Eat on patio for lunches to get fresh air snd more conversation. Paper plates are used here!
Have a picnic in living room on rainy or snowy days. Put a throw on the floor and appreciate the home cooked meal in a picnic basket. A fun indoor event in front of a fireplace!

Be creative with our home cooked meals. This is often much more family fun than eating out, tipping, paying for parking or tipping a parking attendant. It depends where you go eat out.

We have many options available to us. This paradigm shift from 2020 to stay home has influenced us all to be more creative and appreciate what we have!!

This is a great show! Thank you for showing me and reminding me of more ‘options’.

I love batch cooking! Cook multiples of chicken pieces (whatever you prefer or is on sale). Then use it in multiple ways that week or freeze half to have some evening when you put are too tired to cook or be for another week. Same goes for other main dishes your family likes. Make two and freeze one for later. Or if you make a large casserole, cut portions servings into portion sizes and freeze them for later. You can grab one to take for lunch to work or dinner another night again when you may not feel like cooking. It takes away the temptation of hitting a drive-thru or ordering a pizza on the way home. I love how you say that eating out should be a treat. Since my stroke 8 years ago, I have really cut back on doing much with my hair. I keep a simple bob style and fortunately I have yet to find a bunch of gray so I don't really need to color my hair. Because I lost the use of my dominant arm, it is difficult for me to trim my nails so a girlfriend and I do go about once a month and get spa pedicures at a local beauty school. We purchase gift cards from them each December when they have their annual discounted gift card sale where we save 15% off. We both typically buy enough in gift cards for several visits. We use the cards on Tue-Thu before 5 p.m., during senior citizen hours (available to anyone over 50), so we get 20% off of our service. This allows us to enjoy a spa pedicure and some much-needed as I call it " girlfriend therapy" at a much lower price than it would cost at a full-service salon. The students generally do a good job and the school is very focused on cleanliness which is important. I also get a haircut every few months and get my eyebrows waxed as I can't maintain them myself any longer.

I just put down my Tuxedo Boy today as well. He would have been 21 in October. He was a real gentle giant of a cat. Such a hard thing to do. Give yourself time to grieve. You're in my thoughts.
