A issue with the sound on my new LG G1 OLED means it has to be returned as it isn't something that can be lived with.Good news is that I should be getting a replacement any day.

This seems to be an isolated hardware issue, but would love to hear from anyone else who experiences the problem by leaving a comment.

Massive thanks to Box for sending me this TV and supporting my decision to highlight this issue. Many companies wouldn't be so happy to do so.

Amazon will pay me a small percentage of the sales purchased via my link, but at NO EXTRA COST TO YOU!
The other way is to simply NOT skip the adverts that have been put on the video, I then will be paid a small amount for you watching those ads.

Great job, Youtuber who calls it as it is. Sets your videos apart from the rest. From the good, the bad and ugly.

THIS. Glad I found your video. My C1 42" is doing exactly this after over a year of ownership. I use it as my work monitor and it's the speakers which now CUT IN AND OUT and it's driving me batty. Was happy with LG as a brand until this happened.

I like how box replaced your tv straight away . I didn’t get the same treatment took me 4 weeks to get them to send me one after I returned the tv no tv for 4 weeks. If you look online as well lots of people have the same problems with box returns process you will get a replacement eventually but it’s a long and stressful process you have to keep chasing them

I had numerous issues with my GX recently where the menus were lagging, no WiFi connection and the option to turn WiFi greyed out. Also you would turn the TV off and a few mins later it would switch itself back on all by itself! The main board was replaced with an in-home repair and now it’s working good as ever.

Try to clean the headphones jack, maybe humidity inside. Few years ago same problem with my samsung s4 headphone jack...

I have the same issue on my 55" G1. Just randomly switches over. You can switch it back via the remote or just power the TV off and on. I don't plug anything into that jack. Ironically, plugging a headphone into the HP jack doesn't auto-switch over (think that is by design- I asked LG support). Doesn't matter if audio is set to go via HDMI or Optical. It is happening more often now (started seeing this in September or November after having the TV for a month or so). Software updates haven't changed this over the months either. Next call to LG will be to ask for service.

Is there a factory reset option. I know it fixes phone problems so might be worth a shot??

What HDMI devices do you have plugged? I've had problems with CEC and my satellite tv company decoder. Until I unplugged that decoder HDMI it went back to normal. In the end I had to kill the HDMI cable pin 13 for the decoder so it can be plugged to the tv and don't do funky stuff

Must say, this channel is great. 👍 I will probably buy the CX soon. Starting to get nervous. Not for this clip right here but you know. Dead pixels, banding etc. It's really not a pleasent experience to me, to buy expensive stuff. I'm an obsessive person so it takes a while before I can truly enjoy the product.

this is my worry, mostly because I have no way to return it really. do they let you keep the old one til the new one arrives, then you pack the old one in the box of the new one..? I don't have packaging anymore. would need to arrange courier pick-up as well as I don't have a vehicle to fit it in.

I e not had that issue bud. BUT I setup my C1 with my Samsung soundbar and Xbox series X all was good. When I turned off Xbox, the tv and soundbar shut off at the same time. But the day after I turned on my Xbox the tv turned on, but soundbar didn’t. I checked the port 2 in settings and it shows my Samsung Q800T Soundbar but it doesn’t turn on and off now, and the volume with magic remote doesn’t increase or decrease either. I’m wondering if I should do a tv reset. But the tv gaming on it and picture wise it’s mind blowing! I am very happy I dumped my Samsung QN90A tv to get this C1

Just out of interest, did you try plugging in a set of wired headphones to see if they worked? Maybe that would clear the problem after you take the jack out? How annoying for you but glad you managed to get it replaced with no problems 👍
