The Wasted Future Of Young Kickboxer Mohammed Jaraya

Mohammed Jaraya, a 26-year-old Moroccan kickboxing champion, was once on his way to greatness before his entanglement in shady activities and multiple suspensions and accusations. After being absent from the sport for three years, he was set to make a return in February 2023, but was arrested on January 19th for his involvement in fraudulent activities like drug trafficking, arms trafficking, and money laundering. This incident has become a threat to his already rocky career, which has seen several similar incidents in the past. His lavish lifestyle drew the attention of the authorities, leading to his investigation and eventual arrest.

He’s just the latest. Organized crime and Dutch Muay Thai have been heavily linked since the 80s many many fighters who crossed the line have turned up dead in the canals. It’s endemic in the gyms. Even the founder of the Gym and promotion Golden Glory’s Ron Nyqvist wound up dead.

Very Clever, post your illicit lifestyle on social and hang around with shady characters when you’re a known sports personality. Hope he sorts himself out.

They need to start licensing fighters again. Criminal behavior is completely tolerated, because any controversey that they can manufacture or that naturally unfolds sells PPVs. Encouraging violence outside of the ring is a timebomb waiting to go off and result in a death. Maintaining the highest level of discipline is a must. And getting the opportunity to compete at the highest level, should come with a code of conduct that suspends or releases fighters who are convicted of crimes while under contract. I know the world is a crazy and violent place, and even the strongest men have their weaknesses. I hope he will come through the other side and train young fighters to not throw away their future for a fist full of drug money.

Other talented Dutch Moroccan Kickboxers/Muay Thai fighters were killed by the local Mafia, such as Miloud El Guebli and Tarik El Idrissi. Miloud El Guebli may Allah bless his soul was a pioneer and founder of Moroccan Muay Thai he was among the first fighter of the sport even in Holland. He was never found. Tarik was also a very talented fighter with a bright future...I am wondering how many Moroccan fighters are under the threat of the local Mafia!!!

you cant build a criminal case against somebody based on assumptions you need tangible proof, the fact that he has an expensive lifestyle shouldnt be a basis for his prosecution.
