This lecture examines the wording and language of the Charter of the United Nations. It continues the discussion from the previous lecture on the history of the UN's founding as a combination of Great Power politics and collective input from participating members. It also finishes up the first section of class on a history of multilateralism and the creation of the UN.

We examine various Articles of the Charter and point to how each of the sub-organizations of the UN function: General Assembly, Security Council, Economic and Social Council. International Court of Justice, and the now defunct Trusteeship Council.

If they cared about human rights why was the UN silent on the Uyghurs culture and people being decimated before their eyes? Did they not have rights?
