The people in south america don't look the same, the sub-continent is more of a blender of ethnicities being the most diverse on the planet, you can find black people, withe people, asian descedants, think of literally any kind of person, you can find someone like that in south america

As a Peruvian I had no idea that the most famous war was the one between Colombia and Peru, here I would say that the "War of the Pacific" is better known because there is rivalry between Peruvians and Chileans. But in the continent I thought it would be the war of the triple alliance the most famous.

The difference is that the United States took over the name America, excluding the rest of the countries that make up the American continent, it is as if in Europe a single country took over the name "Europe" and excluded the rest of the countries, those of South America.
