We meme on Chile for being long.

But we don’t meme on Vietnam for being long.

As a Cubano, I was so excited to see all the possible things Cuba could do....being the first ones out because of an attempt to invade the US was instant pain. But huge respect to our Haitian brothers for coming through when all hope is lost! And yeah, that bit of France by Newfoundland is quite the unique place! That's St. Pierre & Miquelon. The history behind it is that in 1536, Jacques Cartier claimed the islands as a French possession. In the 1713 Treaty of Utrecht, France ceded the islands to the UK, and a small number of American colonists settled there. Under the terms of the 1763 Treaty of Paris, France gave up much of their North American possessions to the UK, but the British granted fishing rights to French fishermen along the Newfoundland coast, thus St Pierre & Miquelon returned to French control.

However, after France helped the Americans fight the UK, a British force invaded and briefly occupied them, destroying all the settlements. In 1793, during the French Revolutionary Wars, another British force landed and once again, got rid of the French settlers. The Treaty of Amiens of 1802 returned the islands to France, but Britain reoccupied them when hostilities recommenced the next year. The 1814 Treaty of Paris gave the islands back to France, though the UK occupied them yet again during the Hundred Days War in 1815. The islands were resettled in 1816, mostly by Basques, Bretons and Normans, thus why the Basque, Breton, and Norman flags are on their coat of arms. So yeah, a lot of back and forth!

As a Colombian, I'm very mad of my country doing nothing during the entire battle royale, and then just die to Antigua and Barbuda.

Grenada is meant to be pronounced as Grenade-uh, not Granada like the Spanish city! I listen to Grenadian music a lot so that's how I know. Grenada is quite an interesting place! Grenada is known as the Island of Spice because of its nutmeg production, and nutmeg is featured on its flag! Following several unsuccessful attempts by Europeans to colonize the island due to resistance from resident Island Caribs, French settlement and colonization began in 1649 and continued for the next century. In February 1763, Grenada was ceded to the British under the Treaty of Paris. British rule continued until 1974 (except for a brief French takeover between 1779 and 1783).

From 1958 to 1962, Grenada was part of the West Indies Federation, a short-lived federation of British West Indian colonies. This federation dissolved because of its continued colonial status, distance and separation by sea, the conflicts of personality and island interests, the difficulties of freedom of movement and of trade, and rival methods of taxation. This federation had a relationship with Canada and considered becoming a province. After Grenada got independence in 1974, communist Maurice Bishop overthrew the government in a bloodless coup in 1979. Backed by Cuba and although communist, they kept Elizabeth II as head of state. Bishop was later arrested and killed by his own military, and with American medical students trapped, the US led an invasion in 1983.
