My personal theory. The new Ashoka series, Mandalorian 3, Bobba Fett 2, are all going to explore Sabine and Ashokas search for Ezra and Thrawn. I think they have the potential to tell a great story with Ezra and Thrawn. Being stuck together in open space or whatever the new space are is called, where they have to work together to survive. With Ezra, learning to utilize Thrawn’s tactical genius, and cold ruthlessness, picking up traits of it along the way. And Thrawn picking up some of Ezra’s traits as well. Thrawn is still going to be a villain. I think Ezra will have to help Thrawn get to The Chiss. Where Thrawn, even being an exile, is still a member of one of the ruling noble houses of the chiss. So he will be able to recruit soldiers of his house or clan, and a new fleet of ships to use in their return to the galaxy. Ashoka and Sabine will discover Thrawn and his new fleet in the edge of Galactic Space, with Ezra at his side. And Ezra seeing Sabine and Ashoka still looking for him 7 years later will be the pull he needs to bring him back, but not to the oath of a Jedi, but a Jensaari, or a Grey Jedi like Ashoka is. Sabine and Ezra will fall in love and that love will bring him from the brink of the dark side with Thrawn as his Co-commander of the new fleet. Just my theory. As the Star Wars univers seems to be delving into The Grey more and more.
