These are both insanely good towers. Honestly, they're on par with one another, just different playstyles, (one, single-targeting fast DPS, the other, slow, high-damaging, area-damaging)

I think that its a bit to unfair because of the earth shamans which give physical armour to other enemies so crossbow fort is a lot weaker here

I have never liked the crossbows. It is hard to see how much damage they do, and the first ability only serves to add some DPS, while the second ability is pointless if another nearby fort has it already

Archmage has clear high damage and really underrated abilities

Crossbow fort are better faster firerate, better abilities, can give your towers range, strong barrage, archmage may do more damage but Crossbow forts are broken

u picked a bad level for this, earth shamans spawn a lot earlier and more frequently on the snapvine bridge

Archmage is so trash tbh
Magic in general is awful in frontiers.
This is reason why heroes like bruxa and bonehart are so good.
Frontiers also has most enemies with magic resist.
Artillary is so much better.
As for crossbow fort,
A barrage fully upgraded crossbow fort is just as good as two of them.
For 550 gold you basically double it's dps.
It's literally the third best archer in the series right behind Boneflingers and arcane archers.
While archmage is worst mage in entire series.
