I like to think of it this way: Crossbow forts and archmages are your dps while necromancers and axe throwers are your chokepoints

Axe throwers on the beach water levels are usefull af with the weakening enemies and disabling abilities

Crossbow Forts with Barrage are the best sources of physical dps hands down. But Tribal Axethrowers are the perfect compliment to Battle Mecha spam! It's a tough choice.

Crossbow Bois: Good damage. can increase Range of ur Towers
Primitive Bois: Good damage. Can weaken enemies and can Silence Enemies abilities( best used at Cave levels).

I choose Crossbow Forts for reason: THEY’RE CUTE! In all seriousness both are great, but I prefer Crossbow for the sheer DPS and reach. That boost really makes a difference.
