Get started with Modern Controls in Canvas Power Apps

This tutorial video introduces the new modern controls available for Canvas Power Apps.

Modern controls in Canvas Power Apps are a new set of controls that are based on Microsoft's own Fluent design system. Modern controls are quicker and simpler for makers to configure. Modern controls are designed with a focus on accessibility, usability, and performance (fast) that makes them visually appealing, highly functional, and intuitive to use.

The initial release of modern controls includes button, checkbox, date picker, tab list, progress bar, info button, spinner, radio group, link, checkbox, badge etc.

Theming – Designed with theming in mind. Although not part of the initial launch, support for theming and per control styling is coming to the preview soon.

With this change and enabling of modern look and feel in model driven apps, I guess embedding of custom page/canvas app in model driven apps will look more consistent as they seem to be sharing the same controls. This was much needed !!

Three things that were highly required tab list, progress bar and spinner rest were available in MS Teams power apps which I used to copy and use them in my Canvas apps.

This will save alot of time, now you don't have to import Fluent controls. Look and feel is alot more professional out of the box. Thanks for the heads up

Hi Reza, thanks for introducing these new features! I started working with power apps about two weeks ago as part of my thesis. Your videos were sooo helpful these past days!!! I am currently investigating how to drive employee adoption of digital collaboration and communication tools. As hardly anyone in our company is working with the office 365 tools, I try to showcase the possibilities. Do you perhaps have tip what kind of approaches people respond to? Generally, the staff has some digital affinity as we are based in Norway. Since you have been dealing with these tools for so long you probably gained some implementation insights. Hope you can give some brief advice or recommend some material :) keep up the great work!!! All the best from Oslo

Hi Reza, about Tab list control, it's there a way to change the value from a button. For example if i click a button i want that tab 1 to be selected or any tab.i choose, ...Thanks for sharing new stuff with all.
