Great video but one very big missed point is the storage upgrade options. You can upgrade your ssd on a surface pro 8 by yourself with the size and model you want but not on an Ipad

Nice assessment of the two devices. Thanks. I bought a Surface Pro 8, even though I have an M1 MacBook Pro. Two reasons: I only want to carry one device when I travel and the Microsoft Office apps are, IMO, better on Windows than on iOS, and Much better than on Mac OS. And being able to run Android in Windows 11, brings touch-optimised apps to the Surface. But, the big downside is the Surface Pro's real-world battery life - I only get about four hours out of it.

One more thing. If you have a windows laptop, there's also a slight advantage of using surface. Whatever files you have on your old laptop can be instantaneously transferred to your surface pro using OneDrive. So if you are working on a document on your surface pro, you can continue to work on it on your old laptop too!

Apple fan here. The Surface Pro wins HANDS DOWN. The iPad Pro is a good product but I’ve used it and I’ve also tried out Surface Pro in the store before. The Surface Pro is a computer in every sense of the word. The iPad Pro felt like a big phone. That’s right. Because iPadOS is a mobile OS, Surface Pro actually uses the computer version of Windows.

One major advantage of the Surface Pro 8 is that it runs a computer OS compared to the iPad running a mobile OS. Apple really should make an iPad like device running Mac OS.

Ipad os neuters the ipad m1. And as long as Apple limits the ipad pro, doesnt matter if you give it an m1, m2, or m20.. it will always be limited.

When it comes to serious productivity & professional use, there is no comparison. The SP8 wins hands down. With Android apps now possible on Windows 11 via the Android Subsystem, touch based experiences on the SP8 will only get better. That's without any further evolution in Windows 11 touch features in the future.

Apple should honestly retire iPadOS and use MacOS on iPads. People will claim that iPad Pros feel like a computer. That’s rubbish. And they need more USB.
