As someone who works at a pet food store in Nova Scotia, it’s awesome to see someone taking steps locally to educate people on pet food. Definitely sending this to my coworkers

There should’ve been the overall scores at the end.

Would love to see an update on this for 2024. So many companies have been bought since this video, and recipes have changed for some.

I love Carna4!! I put some bone broth, blueberries, and fish oil over it, and some of it I feed in his puzzle toys. HE LOVES IT!! I also rotate in a lot of raw as well :)

I love how you're talking about the vitamin mixes! Absolutely correct my friend. (I work in a vitamin premix mill)

I feel like this video has truly helped me. Sure I'm still not 100% confident, however, I have a better chance of catching something wrong with my dogs food, than before! However, packaging test was not important to me as transfer food into an air tight container once opened. So less or lighter packaging is best for me! ❤️ Thanks!!

Rodney, today I made my dog the beef recipe that you and Dr. Becker made on YouTube. I cooked it since it was the first time and mixed it with her remaining kibble to ease her into it. Needless to say, she ate every bit of the real food and left every piece of the kibble. She has spoken. There's my answer. Thanks for all you do.

Thank you for encouraging me to continue feeding homemade (easily in the slow cooker) and raw from a local company who uses local, holistic supplies only.

This is one of the best videos I’ve seen ever. The editing is top notch.

When we brought home a tiny 12 week old puppy a few years ago she refused to eat any commercial pet “food.” I went searching online for information on pet food. The pet food corporations provide zero information about where they source their ingredients or how those ingredients are processed. I did finally find Susan’s website and found some other interesting sites.
I began cooking food for our little puppy. It turned out she knew what was best for her because that kibble that we had tried to feed her was garbage even though it was sold as a “high quality” pet food.
The pet food industry’s number one concern is the bottom line that the board of directors see. They want “feed” that can be easily transported and that can sit on a shelf in a storehouse and in the store for months and even years.
Most of those synthetic vitamins and minerals used to bump up the nutritional value of this over processed garbage are processed in China. Because vitamins and minerals are not considered actual food that fact does not have to be disclosed. Most human supplements sold in the US are the same deal. Processed in China. China has the lowest paid labor force in the world (with India and other third world countries not far behind) and can under bid any western service. Much of the frozen fish sold in the US is now processed by China out on barges way out in the ocean. (Think about the human rights disaster that is) China was able to under bid and put out of business a large percentage of American fish processing plants.
Our pets, just like our people, are being slowly poisoned by these huge corporations that now control the food supply. You will not hear about this in the corporate owned media which is also controlled by these “powers that be.” Corporations that own pet food companies also own multiple other types of businesses. The American people walk around in an almost totally controlled environment. It is an environment made and controlled by those at the top of the corporate ladder.

Can you make a video on reviewing the Instinct Raw Boost kibble, kibble mix with raw, and 100% raw diet?

I saw this video for the first time a few days ago, and I'm glad I did. My pup has been on Zignature dog food for a few years now and started off with the Salmon formula, and now she's on Kangaroo. It seems to me the formula has changed, because she's starting to scratch more and now has redness on her belly and under her arms and growing area. I don't give her any treats except for blue berries and her Joint treats from Glyde that contains shell fish. I'm taking her off Glyde to see if the shell fish is the problem and creating a yeast infection. All the vets want to do is give her pills that don't work like Apoquel. All Apoquel does is help stop the scratching, not fix the problem.

I know this video is form 2019 and you mention that Orijen only has one added synthetic, (Zink). I'm looking for a new food for my pup, and don't have the time to make homemade food and considering Orijen. After further looking at their ingredients list, the list of synthetics is quite large compared to what you are claiming. Has this changed from when you first did this review? because this is a list of additives on the packaging from there original formula.
, zinc proteinate, mixed tocopherols (preservative), vitamin E supplement, thiamine mononitrate, calcium pantothenate, copper proteinate, dried chicory root, turmeric, sarsaparilla root, althea root, rosehips, juniper berries, citric acid (preservative), rosemary extract, dried Lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation product, dried Bifidobacterium animalis fermentation product, dried Lactobacillus casei fermentation product.
I would like to see an updated video on these brands. Carna4 seems great, but very pricey for your average person.
Keep up the good work!
