Seriously thank you this is the only thing that’s toned down the frequency for me and helped me pin point that it is my neck and jaw causing my tinnitus.

Mine increases when i bring my jaw backwards or clench my teeth. It also increases when i bring my head back without looking up. It increases when i yawn. It increases when i bend my head to the left and down as if trying to look at my elbow without raising my arms, but NOT when i do the same towards the right. That last one one is puzzling me.

Another good way to test for neck issues is if your tinnitus is reduced after a hot shower. Everyone I've met that this is true for has cervical issues - atlas misalignment, ligament damage, and sometimes internal jugular vein compression from cervical issues.

My solution for reducing my tinnitus is working the heck out of my traps. I grind them with my fingers and palms until soft. I am too cheap to get a deep tissue massage but I can imagine that would work wonders as well.

I think mine does change in pitch when I clench my jaw.

But it also increases when I bring my jaw forward.

My sound goes higher pitched when clenching my jaw, the same happens when I fully open my mouth as wide as possible, is this a sign my TMJ could be causing the sound?

What to do if the clenching test completely stops the tinnitus? It must be jaw muscle related then? That happens to me: if I bite my teeth strongly together, my tinnitus in left ear disappears. But because I can't be clenching my jaw all the time, I have the tinnitus. What to do?

Thank you for this helpful resource. When I do the clenching test my tinnitus gets better, not worse. Then it goes back to normal when I stop clenching the jaw. Can this also be an indicator that TMJ treatment can help? Thanks

Hi Ben, I have noticed which I never tried before when I clench my teeth my tinnitus goes right up and frantic in sound. My tinnitus came on at a time of extreme anxiety and stress 8 months ago but wondering does this mean it's linked to my jaw, it does click and crunch when I yawn sometimes and has for years ? Also I do get now and again muscle pain running up the back of my neck when I am doing exercise like a Brisk walk.

I developed hearing loss in my left ear and now its come back weaker with loud tinnitus. I also have vertigo. All this started 2 weeks after three days of adjustments to my neck. I complained after back pain between my shoulder blades and he said it stems from my neck. Well now i hsve loud tinnitus in my left ear and the back pain still there. Could this be an improper adjustment.
