I assumed the answer was yes for all cordless ratchets. Even with the old air ratchets you typically had to break the nut loose manually and then buzz it off with air power.

I believe that's how they are intended to be used

Milwaukee also do a "ratchet style" / 90° angle _impact wrench_ now too, for anyone who's needs are more in that direction. They're two quite different tools for different jobs though.

I bought the same one bc “Fuel” ya kno? For my purposes I regret buying the fuel version given the head size, but I’m still happy For more uses😆 but regardless.. yesss I was super happy when I realized it’s a manual ratchet also! I was nervous it would some how not be able to take the pressure but shit I use the manual all the time w/ no issues 😃

I use the same ratchet on my job and for brake caliper bolts Iv found out that if you get you socket spinning right before you get it on the bolt I can normally get it to brake free. 👍🏻

Yes. That's the main intention of air/cordless ratchets. Break em loose by hand then run em out, or run em in and then torque to spec.

Just be careful you’ve got your hand on the tool not the battery, the batteries crack if you apply slight force to the side definitely for the bigger m12

This is where I love my m12 right angle impact. I does what I envisioned the m12 ratchet would do but I ended up learning what they were meant for. A small foot print that will ratchet off a nut thats all ready been broken free or to tighten up a nut or bolt to just get it in. M12 right angle and m12 impact wrench are all I use on vehicle work. Im pretty stoked milwaukee is releasing a extend 3/8 ratchet high speed with a way smaller head now the 3/8 extended head on the old tool is way too big and hard to get into tight spaces.

You'd be surprised at how many people compare this to a right angle impact driver or wrench. I have the m12 brushed ratchet and also the Kobalt 3/8 brushless right angle wrench and both have their place.

I think project farm channel did a video and manually torquing these he was good up to about 100 ft lbs so they're definitely not a breaker bar but for reasonable applications you dont have to worry about breaking the tool.

I have a non fuel m12 ratchet and I do that all the time. I love that thing. Want to buy a right angle impact next

Aren't you supposed to break the nut loose manually anyway?

you can use a drill manually tool if you put the forward/reverse button to the middle position

I do the old turbo trick😂. Start up the ratchet off the bolt and then bring it down to the bolt kind of quickly and it will break free without doing anything of this

Leave those 12points in the tool box until it's needed

I'd be interested to hear what Milwaukee has to say about using it to break free on both the fuel and M12, I always feel like they're going to break when I do this.

I broke the crank tip off on mine doing this. A little manual pressure probably won't hurt, but don't full send it...

I always wondered that, because those ratchets don't have enough power for many applications

lol when I first got my electrical ratchet, I didn’t know that 😂😂😂
