The premise of Netflix’s Mindhunter isn’t exactly light — two FBI agents plumb the psychological depths of infamous serial killers. So while Cameron Britton was portraying serial killer Ed Kemper for nine months, he had a hard time stepping away from the role.

At Vulture Festival, Britton shared a horrifying anecdote about when his mom came to visit him and he thought about killing her. Talk about getting into character.

"The show is about serial killers... therefore you have to think about serial killers a lot". Here's a psychology Phd used to its full capacity

It just astounds me that Cameron isn't getting more role offers after Mindhunter.

When Cameron looked back over to his fellow actors and sees the absolute horror and fascination on their faces, that fucking killed me 😂

This dude looks even more like Ed now than he did in season 1.

Method actors are only slightly different to serial killers. Cameron Britton deserved an Oscar for his incredible acting on Mindhunter

It's weird to hear Cameron Britton's voice and have it not come from Ed Kemper.

Omg I don't know what's funnier: Jon's look throughout (smiling supportively to open-mouthed sheer shock and bewilderment) or Camerons "... no one's ever asked!" 1:39 at the very end, like some maniacal interviewer would ever think to correlate Camerons acting as Ed Kemper and him taking on some of these feelings, albeit second-handedly, for his own mum. Amazing.

He’s been one of my favorites for the past few years, the way that he talks and has the emotion just makes it seem so real, he’s even green in Manhunt-Deadly games. He understands the role every time 🙏🏾💯

Cant believe they shut this show down, it had only just taken off and wanted to see so much more character development.

Cameron stole the damn show with his performance. Here's to hoping they bring it back for a third season.
