how I use my Novation LAUNCH CONTROL XL (FREE TEMPLATE)

**I'M SO SORRY THIS IS IN MONO** I messed up when recording my Computer Audio -- very embarrassed about that!
In this video, I show you how I setup my Novation LAUNCH CONTROL XL with my Ableton Live Session that I use to play keys live, whether just at church on Sunday mornings, or when I'm traveling with Bethel Music or Brooke Ligertwood.

Novation Editor (I'd suggest using Chrome):

My LCXL Template (FREE):

**Getting the “Click On/Off” button to respond visually takes a little workaround:
1. Create a blank Audio or MIDI Track
2. Map the SAME button on the LCXL to the “Speaker On/Off” button of that track.
3. You should now see visual feedback when you turn the Click on and off! (There may be some visual lag; I haven’t figured out a solve for that yet)

I'm a little late to the LCXL party, considering how long it's been on the scene. But, I've been looking for something I can use to hand-tweak my plugins. (Me and mice do NOT get along). When I bumped into this little box I thought that it might serve that purpose. But I couldn't find a decent video that showed it's versatility, until now. Granted, I'm not an Ableton guy but a Studio One guy. Yet, if this controller is a versatile as it appears in your video, this should work just fine. Thanks for this nice demo!

Also.. what are some good standard pads I can purchase or create? .. I’ve been struggling to get a solid pad that isn’t too wispy, but still bright enough for the mix and has good attack. Dude thanks so much for posting this. I’ve been running Mainstage for the last 12 years, and just jumped into Ableton a couple weeks ago. Game changer, and I wish I did it sooner. I also just got the notation launch control, ANOTHER game changer. I love how you have everything laid out. I do have a question!
When you send separate outs to FOH, like your grouped sounds, pianos being 1-2, pads/leads being 3-4, tracks being 5-6, sub bass being 7, and click being 8 just for example, how does the sound engineer do the gain staging between all the channels? Does he set them all the same, or does he need to set each one up differently depending on what you’re sending him? I’ve just had trouble in the past leveling my IEM’s when we do separate outputs to FOH. Hope this question makes sense!
