Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 review: Very special, mostly practical

Easily one of the most interesting smartphones to have launched in 2018 was the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3. This device recently made its way into the Malaysian market, but the question is: Does this smartphone -- with its sliding front display -- deserve your time or money?

This is probably one of the last slider phones we will see in years. I like this Design choice a lot and I am happy with my phone. I was afraid of the size and weight, but it's honestly no problem. Anyway, very beautiful video. So many good edits, cuts, images and the content was interesting to watch.

I brought a mi mix 3 this week, together with a can of air duster" just in case" installed Poco launcher from the app store to get the app draw back "missing in miui"and I could not be happier. Great review by the way.

The Global edition supports cdma and sprint bands, but I was told that their sim card won't work in my mi mix 3. So now I'm stuck with a 500 dollar phone, contemplating whether to switch to Tmobile to be able to use the phone or just sell it...(I want to keep it, Damn it!) Also, great review!

great truthful review, would like the phone but as you say and as I had thought, dirt getting stuck in the slider, I guess it's all give and take. Great looking phone but I'll stick with my Oneplus 5T a bit longer.

Not sure why yours got a lot of dust, mine is clean after a month and a half using it but then I'm using the case so its probably why i dont have dust in it

Xiaomi i believe is pronounced 'xiao' as in 'small', not hokkien's 'siau' as in 'crazy'. If anything gets inbetween the gap I'd recommend using a can of compressed air.

You should read the DXO mark review of the camera. You are just a youtuber and not in a position to judge if the camera is good. Leave it to the expert.

Cool in theory....not so in practice...grit getting in the slider is a real problem. smallish battery, mono speaker, no ip rating, not good enough for me. Shame.
