Personally, I like this slide thing because I'm rarely using the front facing camera, so I don't mind have it hidden away until I need it. Overall, this is a sexy phone.

Absolutely remarkable design. Just finished watching a teardown of this thing. The slider has no motors or buttons to go wrong, it just relies on magnets. Therefore no stress on any parts, it'll last for years.
The magnets are aligned so that they attract when closed and repel when open and the slider is totally free sliding (no friction to wear anything away).
You really should see the construction of this thing to see how brilliant it is.

Maybe I have sticky fingers but I find the naked ceramic back more grippy than the plastic case.

I think I like the snap camera feature a lot more than everything else I've seen so far. There's no real obvious drawbacks, and you get the full effect of the display.

If launched at a competitive price to One Plus 6t in markets like India, this phone has all the flagship features. The slider is a great feature to toy around.

Its dec 3 2021 and i still have been using my Mi Mix 3 and loving ever second of it, BUT!!! the thrill had just ended some hours ago as my phone decided to impersonate an olympic swimming high diver off my bed sometime during the night cracking its screen. Not the first time its fallen but is the first time broke. But the phone imo is so good that im going to track down a replacement amoled screen to get it up and running again. It was a great phone. worthy of praise and fixing, The full screen with no camera's nore holes, even the sliding selfie was truly perfect. not a gimmick at all. and much has to be said with it screen being seporate from its internal components. Of coarse Xiaomi explores with many phone concepts, like the Mix4 alpha and the soon to debut Mi Mix 5 and they will be a much more powerful phone, but i can say the mi mix 3 is one i want have up and running, a nostagic nod to a design that was really a game changer that the industry passed up on.

People in the comments arguing about how the newer SD cpu's are so much yes they are but do you really need all that power? My answer is NO :P I'm using a Sony Xperia Z2 since 2014 which has SD 801 and it's still working as it should. So a SD 835/845/855 etc. will work 6+ years guaranteed ;-)
PS: I also like the SD 7XX cpu's like the SD 730... not a "high end" cpu but still it's very powerful and most of all power efficient what I like the most

I'd recommend the POCO launcher with the Mi Mix 3. It obviously is well optimized for MIUI (as it's made by Xiaomi) and has tons of customization. The thing I like the most about it is that it has the same feel, so you don't have the issue of your launcher not matching the rest of the UI.

It does have face unlock. I changed the location to Indonesia and it showed up. Not sure why it doesn't show up if you select United States but at least you have that option

When did you film this? You can reprogram the button... Mine does the torch, Google assistant and Google search .

Also their is a face unlock option in the settings as well :) bit inconvenient on this phone but works quickly .
