In this video, we learn how to use the a method known as FOIL. This method is used to find the product of two binomials. FOIL stands for First terms, Outer terms, Inner terms, and Last terms.

Well remember, it doesn't matter the order that you multiply in. So one method would be to use FOIL to multiply, (2x+1)(4x-5), then you could multiply this result by 3. You also could multiply 3 by (2x+1), then multiply this result using FOIL by (4x-5). In the end, you will get the same result.

2(a+b+c) = 2a+2b+2c. You just multiply the number in front of the parentheses by each term inside. This is called the distributive property, if you want to look it up.

I'm sorry, can you please restate that problem. I'm not sure what you're trying to do.

That's not an equation, an equation has an equals sign. What is it equal to? If it's equal to zero, then you just set each factor equal to zero, and solve the resulting equations. So for example,

2x+8=0, and also 4x^2+3x+4=0

Pay attention to the signs. You're adding two negatives -28x and -12x. The result is -40x. The problem is (4x+2)(-6x-7) so we get:
F: -24x^2
O:-28x
I: -12x
L-14

So when we simplify, we get -24x^2-40x-14

Great vid but how do you solve one that says :
If x and y are + integers, and if x2+ 2xy + y2= 25 then (x + y)3?

The videos that I've watched so far have been very helpful and Thank you.

How would you solve a quadratic equation using FOIL method like
(2x +8)(4x^2+3x+4). They're always presenting problems and provide no examples how to do the problem. Can you help me please? Thank you!!
