When thinking about wall insulation, you might be thinking a total remodel has to be done, but that's not the case. The big question is how to insulate a wall without removing the drywall. Injection foam insulation for existing walls is designed to be installed from the outside without the need to rip out drywall. RetroFoam insulation can be easily installed by removing a row of siding, or drilling into the wood or brick mortar depending on the home's exterior.

Different experience. Ive used foam fill in old existing wood cavity walls many times without any rot whatsoever. Ive had excellent results each time.

Seems a bit intrusive. Would the techs restore the walls into its original look once the work has been done?

My house was built in 1927 and the walls are ice-cold in the winter and my upstairs is very warm in the summer. Does this help keep the heat out in the summer?

What about stucco walls? Also there's a first floor wood framed 8' ceiling lowering a 10' ceiling that results in a nearly 2ft dead space between the first and second floor that's completely uninsulated around it's perimeter. Could this be used there?

Would this work on school busses with out bulging the panels?

But what about spacers. You go in and you are only filling half the stud wall. Spacers stop you from filling plate to plate.

Very interested as I have vinyl siding and lathe/plaster walls. My house is old and I'm torn between outsourcing and DIY. I keep reading that old homes have empty wall cavities "so they can breathe" to eliminate moisture buildup. Bottom line I'll need insulation at some point, but don't want to introduce a mold issue. Are there any warranties? I assume you do the top floor as well?

Do you put plugs in the holes you make to inject the foam? Because rats and mice will take advantage of the holes. They'll just rip out the foam to get in.
