I used to get highlights every month, wash my hair every day and dry and style it every day. I couldn't grow my hair at all, my bangs never grew past the tip of my nose. I started lightening every few months, stopped using straighteners, only dry my hair with a hair dryer when I have to go out for an event, only wash it every 3 to 4 days. I couldn't believe the results. My hair grew so much ❤

My stylist freaking FRIED my hair. She didn’t tell me; sent me out of the salon with wet hair loaded with ‘an expensive mask’ like she was doing me a favor. My hair literally was like angel hair pasta. Stretchy and rubbery and just mush. I literally took her a bag full of my hair. She still didn’t acknowledge she fried my hair. It was so disappointing as I have had such strong healthy hair. Letting it grow out and trimming as I can.

Few tips...instead of bleach use a Hi Lift color. Use pure oils...jojoba, argan, avocado oils 100% organic no silicones. Reduce heat styling...use rollers instead of heat. Deep condition hair once a week. Use lukewarm water to shampoo. Shampoo the correct way...gently massage the scalp focusing on the scalp area and don’t manipulate the midshaft/ends just let the shampoo rinse through it gently. Think of baby hair and how beautiful and healthy it is. The less stuff you do to your hair the more shiny silky and healthy it will be. Bottom line...Don’t abuse it or you will lose it!

I got my hair permed yesterday and the chemicals fried up, burnt and broke off my hair like crazy. Lesson learned. Not going to mess with my natural beautiful hair ever again.
Hair dresser appointment for Friday has been made with a professional so she can cut it off and give me a smaller cut so I can restart my hair.
Thanks to my kids telling me “mom it’s hair don’t worry it will regrow. Maybe it’s time for a new cut. Change is always good”. That really helped me feel so much better.

I grew out my hair just fine, I got rid of heat and dyeing, I got regular cuts. I still have some 5/6cm left of bleach at the ends but that will get cut off too, someday. Everything just needs time. My hair was really dry and damaged and nothing would repair it. I am never gonna touch hair dye or bleach ever again, it's not worth it. Healthy hair is the best.

Omg!!! I have been wondering and wondering why my hair just won’t grow any longer and while watching this a giant 💡 appeared above my head! Makes so much sense when described this way. I have this video saved (along with about 12 of yours!) and I will be watching it to keep myself reminded... Thank you Sylvia!! I’m living for your videos rn!

I just started using some great products by Redken. A hair bonding concentrate, hair bonding shampoo and conditioner. Wow. Remarkable products!!!! It made my hair go from super dry and brittle to looking much healthier. I know I still have to be careful but right now I'm rejoicing that it's not all coming out. I highly recommend it to everyone!

All I have to say is I'm so thankful to hear about so much advice around the internet. I just want to say while watching this, to all watching or just here. ALL of y'all are beautiful people. If you feel like your not beautiful that is a lie, and why put yourself on their standards. Be different than others, be YOU. That's what makes you special and don't let them take your uniqueness away. God made all y'all beautiful. Keep trying to keep your head up. We're all Kings and queens. 👑❤💎

I haven’t put a colour on my hair for a year. I let my hair dry naturally. My hair is now healthy. Thank you

Regarding Argan Oil - those mentioned and linked above aren't pure argan and have additives/silicones etc added which aren't necessary, def go for a Pure Argan without all the nasties, oh and usually a hell of a lot cheaper than these high end salon brands!! :)

I wish I had more hairdressers like you! most of mine have always just judged me for having heat damage without helping me at all - the only thing that really worked for me was going cold turkey for two years

This was incredibly helpful. I damaged my hair severely with bleach my accident and it’s been such a toll on my mental health and I couldn’t find any answers as to what would help. This was the answer I’ve been searching for, for weeks now!!

When my hair was damaged from all the reds I cut it short and let it grow and it's grew beautifully 💖 I also trim it every month an 8th of an inch because I've been watching this girl for years 🤗😘😘😘

Thanks for the argon oil explanation. It clarified its not just a hyped up product for no reason

Good tips there, however the "argan oils" she recommended contain a very small percentage of argan oil if you look at the ingredients list - mostly cyclopentasiloxane and dimethicone, which are silicones and basically just smooth the hair. Most pharmacies should have pure or near 100% argan oil available.

I was so tired of washing my hair every 2-3 days, blow drying it and curling it, that I’ve got it permed, I believe it’s less damaging over the time and looks cute when pinned up or in the bun.
