I was taught to hug the wall and cover the bottom while the guy down below covers top, no need to exchange. The angle up top is more than enough to visually clear the bottom, then allowing the bottom to move to the left of the door and they can initiate zig.

The issue with backs-to-backs is that there’s no retreat. Retreating leaves your partner's back wide open to threat.

I prefer option 1. My partner and I are able to maintain visual of each other, each others progress, and our threat vectors at the same time, whilst minimizing our exposure to angles from the open door way at our backs.

The cross coverage first method is clearly the best. The early barrel exchange puts your back at risk for an unnecessary amount of time.

In the first tactic, at the point of barrel exchange both are not back to back so they are expose if someone lean from either ends.

Fist method is is probobly better since it gives better sight angles when you are farther from the angle then the enemy you will see them before they see you

I think the Theres a 50% chance that one of you get into an exhange. And it gives the other information that there is a hostile in that area, more time too react, Etc..

But if you went back too back while moving up the chance of you getting hit in a crossfire increases. Your time too react decreases.
