As a type 1 diabetic I feel incredibly alarmed that he wouldn't take insulin or check his glucose levels because these are essential to manage the disease and lower any chance of complications. I'm so glad Doctor Lee gave him a reality check.

I saw this one. He gets his sugar under control, he comes back and she helps him.

If he checked his glucose he would know if he would be OK to go have the surgery. Everything has to have normal levels for him to have it. I'm a type 2 diabetic. I have had major surgeries with no problem with healing. He just needs to keep tabs on his blood sugar for a month, then he can talk with Dr. LEE about his surgery. My last A1c was a 5.6. So I had 2 eye surgeries. I am blessed.❤

Some people are into denial about their condition. They don't believe if they can't see it there is no problem.

My best friend had diabetes since his early teens. He went most of his life ignoring it. He was also very overweight. By the time he decided to manage his health better it was already too late. He passed at 41

Diabetes is the worst. It can take your eyesight, your fingers, your toes and your legs. It killed my father and his nine siblings. He was such a strong man. He could have lived to 100 without this disease. Fortunately, I don't have it yet.

I'm disappointed he's not checking his glucose daily. That's key! Walmart has reli test strips & machine for $9-$17....that's cheaper than my copay. Im type 1 diabetic 48 years. Uncontrolled diabetes is so bad for healing.

It is so sad that people don't understand the severity of what they have. Ignoring the glucose levels and expecting someone to help you is mind blowing. Men, especially, need to take care of themselves. If you can't work, at least do something to help your wife. Stay healthy and check your levels. Be responsible- you all are NOT infants- do the right thing and make sure you are taking care of yourself. No one wants to care for you when you won't even help yourself- Just ridiculous!

How did no one ever explain, or get thru to him, that his glucose levels were literally life threatening or saving?! Seriously 😔😔

Will you be showing a follow up on this one?

@Dr.Lee I enjoy your shows and have watched you from the very beginning. The glucometers are not reliable. My family member was borderline diabetic, and also an LPN with 50 years of work history behind her. She showed me the readings of her blood sugar 3 different times. She had nothing to eat or drink. The numbers varied tremendously. She said it was the same way with the patients she took care of. The best way to check blood sugar is to draw blood. I do hope that your patient gets his diabetes under control and is able to live a productive life.❤
