The Forgotten Many
Показать описание
Our talk in February was presented by Mel Allwood, Associate at Arup.
Mel shared her thoughts about “The Forgotten Many”. Contextualising her thinking around COP21, also known as the 2015 Paris Climate Conference, which seeks to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement on the climate, with the aim of keeping global warming below 2°C.
Within this political discourse, Mel asks what does this mean for
the Buildings Industry. Whilst we have a number of glamorous, sexy buildings which espouse high sustainability credentials, there are the forgotten many that whilst lovingly designed, could be more efficient and help to deliver against this laudable target of below 2 degrees, by 2050.
Mel debates that with less than 33 years to go to make this
signicant step change how can we, as an industry, seek to make a
difference and enhance these forgotten many buildings.
