Kirby and the Forgotten Land is one of the best games in the Kirby series, but all games must come to an end, and it turns out Forgotten Land has four endings to discover. HAL Laboratory has made a Kirby title with multiple endings to reach as many players as possible, and in this video I will show you what each of these endings are, and how they come together to make one of the best experiences on the Nintendo Switch.

More episodes of ANOTHER ENDING are on the way. Subscribe so you catch the next one when it drops!

small correction, it's The Butterfly who absorbs Fecto Forgo, not the other way around

Loved the video, but I do have one general note.

I personally disagree with the golden void. While I definitely understand where you are coming from, I think it really is supposed to be a congratulations. I mean, letting Leon- sorry, "The Lion Man" have a sixth of his soul missing seems like it will leave him in a negative state. And sure, each waddle dee may look nearly identical, they do have slightly different color shades, and when thinking about it, the human heart believes in no man left behind. That's why King Dedede's sacrifice near the end of the main game was so touching to watch. Each "little thing" is more than a little thing, it's an adventure. And while there may be nothing to truly congratulate you and nothing left to truly do, it feels fufilling that you did everything you can to make everyone happy. The Waddle Dees are all back, Leon is back to his old self, and our good friend Elfilin is back to full force once again. Even in the gotchas, they are gifted like friendship bracelets from the locals of the town. It's not like you just get a statue for free, you have to earn it.

Or maybe I'm just trying to cope that me achieving this ending makes me a terrible person. Take you pick.

"they all have the same name and look identical" makes them easier to love and rescue

4:50 The invasion is not 30 years old. 30 is the number of years that passed after the accidental creation of Elfilin. The invasion made by Fecto Elfilis (Because that is the actual entity that invaded and not Fecto Forgo), is ancient as hell. The recording was made only 30 years after it happened. Said in christian: Fecto Forgo, the first half of Fecto Elfilis, has been in stasis for hundreds of years, if not thousands. (That's why "Eternal Echo of the Thrilling Tour our our" is constantly repeating "AND HERE WE ARE" because Fecto Forgo became traumatized by hearing that audio for millennia).

9:15 The butterfly didn't come by chance. Morpho Knight is the canonical angel of death of Kirby games, he detects the incoming fall of great warriors, and then he absorbs them to face whoever was about to defeat them. Morpho was able to feel that Fecto Forgo's Soul was about to be defeated by Kirby, and so, he proceeded to absorb Fecto Forgo to fight against Kirby, it was not Forgo the one absorbing the butterfly. "The resulting creature..." Morpho Knight was not born from that moment, he had already existed for a very long time, just not canonically until this game, as I said, he is an afterlife entity, akin to what we know as Valkyries when it comes to functionality.

12:23 Usually, every single "Extra hard secret boss" is not canon. Marx's Soul is not canon, just like Soul of Sectonia, ETC. However, Chaos Elfilis is the first extra-hard-secret boss of the Kirby franchise to be absolutely canon. After his soul was devoured by Morpho Knight, he became a prisoner inside the butterfly, but after Kirby defeated Morpho, Fecto was able to break free, and that's the moment when he absorbed part of the powers of Morpho Knight, ascending to Chaos Elfilis (He even does some of Morpho's attacks now). Also, the sportscaster of the arena clearly states that "The final Cup-z is placed in another dimension", giving context and canonicity to it.

13:34 Ending 1, ending 2, and ending 3, are all canon and are progressed in order. You kill Fecto Elfilis, re-dividing Fecto and Elfilin. Fecto's soul survives and traps Leongar in Forgo Dreams. You enter Forgo Dreams and rescue Leongar, then you try to vanish away from Fecto's Soul, but Morpho Knights eats Fecto before you can react. You dematerialize Morpho, and Fecto breaks free, absorbing Morpho's energy to be reborn as Chaos Elfilis, he no longer needs Elfilin to reach his ultimate form. After you kill Chaos Elfilis, the last fragment of Fecto's Soul is absorbed by Elfilin, thus, Fecto and Elfilin are finally one, again, but this time, the conqueror is no more, all that remains is Elfilin. For me, this is the game's actual ending when it comes to lore and canonicity, and personally, it made me feel that the game has only one major ending. However, your point of view is also absolutely valid too, when it comes to videogame design, there are indeed 3 endings, rewarding different kinds of players according to how old they are. Great video, I really liked it.

Kirby’s dodge was my best friend throughout the game. My favorite power was the space gun. It did massive damage when fully charged, but the best thing about it is the three shots you get after executing a perfect dodge. It just felt/looked so good when done.

I think the best thing about the Kirby series regarding its multiple endings is that the team behind the series has been developing the multiple endings technique for at least 14 years now.

Ever since Shinya Kumazaki became the director at HAL laboratory, almost all of the Kirby games have had the 4 endings mentioned in this video. It was only recently with Star Allies however, that I think the 4 endings strategy reached the level it is today thanks to the less-well-known Heroes in Another Dimension update. Things can only look up from here!

I agree this game is such a gem a modern classic for me. The music, atmosphere,
Battles the whole nine yards. The best in the series as well cannot wait to see where they take the series next.

I got the Golden Void ending. I enjoyed the game so much I had to 100% it.

You have Morpho Knight all wrong, the butterfly is the one absorbing Forgo.
He also first appeared as a secret boss in Star Allies, where he absorbed Galacta Knight, which is where he got his Knight body in the first place.

I think you hit spot on. But also, to some gamers, the 100% completionist screen to those players is aslo somthing for us to relish in. To know there are no more spoilers, to know that we have done it all, and that it is an experience we enjoyed. And some day, We may revisit this game for Euforia. Even in the end where we have consumed all, we still hang on to the good old days to keep us moving.

Thank you to everyone who subscribed, commented, and sent positive vibes my way while I was away from YouTube. You are the reason this channel is still going, and I can't wait to show you what I've been working on.

Something that sets this game apart from others with multiple endings, all the endings are technically canon, they just happen one after the other.

Some notes, because kirby's world building has a lot of prior context this video seems to be unaware of. The "human civilization" of the forgotten land is not confirmed or even implied to be real humanity, but rather likely "the ancients" a hyper advanced civilization in the kirby multiverse responsible for the creation of countless powerful artifacts and aspects of its world. "Entered a land of dreams" seems to imply that the ancients used forgos warp power to travel to kirbys universe at minimum, and likely dreamland itself, considering all of the advanced magical and non magical technology that exists there with no explanation. It could also imply the ancients, or at least the scientific half, originated there before moving to Halcandra. Secondly, the butterfly is, get this, an avatar of death itself that first appeared in the previous kirby game, star allies, that seeks out powerful tormented souls to assist in guiding them to the afterlife. It appears as a butterfly, but Morpho Knight is the form it's taken to fight us after absorbing Galacta Knight in the previous game, who was stated in the original Japanese text to be "a soul tired of living". Forgo managed to resist being completely assimilated or guided on by Morpho, though, and stole some of its power for themselves, which is how it managed to grow into chaos elfilis. The red butterfly has been present since return to dreamland, and butterflies as a visual have been with kirby since the beginning, implying it has been with us for a long time. I would recommend you read into kirby's deeper text, it is cool as shit. The RPG Monger has 2 videos that fairly thoroughly cover almost everything in a little bit over an hour total i believe.

I feel like you can still go further even after the 4th ending, to a 5th ending of sorts. After you’ve done supposedly 100 percent completion you can do unnecessary maxing for gotchas and abilities, but there’s also being able to set more challenges, like for the coliseum, perhaps no death or no abilities. And apparently, there’s a few different things when you go on a new file after completing the 3rd ending, but there’s also being able to start again but perhaps with restrictions, or a challenge. It can still keep going for quite a while until… You’ve done everything. Done every file, maxed every mini game, done every challenge, found every secret and Easter egg, and sped-run to the best of your abilities. Then you’ve truly reached, the end, the true end of the content. Reaching this 5th ending can feel like having to depart with the game but it also feels like you had all the fun you ever could with it.

Fun fact
If you dodge, Kirby's next attack is the strongest one he can pull off, or close to it (i.e, Hammer Flip lv 2, Morpho Knight Sword final combo)

Ending 5: The forgotten One
You found everything in the Game, even three HAL-Secrets in World 1, 3 and 6 BUT YOU INSTINCTS TELL YOU "THERE MUST BE MORE".
EVERY WORLD NEEDS A SECRET. YOU WILL FIND IT, NOBODY FOUND IT ON THE INTERNET BUT YOU WILL BE THE ONE.

Nonono, the first ending is “Killing Yet Another Eldritch Horror with a Truck”

So far I'm at Ending 2. I played straight through to that, then stopped for the reason you said; once you've consumed everything the game has to offer, there's nothing left. So I'm holding off on ending 3 and 4 and saving them for when I'm really craving more Kirby. That'll hold me over until the next game a little better.
